This well-established steak house that is located a three-minute walk from Sannomiya was founded in 1885. Ever since then they have been particular about the quality of their meat, and they also have good quality, thoroughly marbled Kobe beef on hand. The soft steak that has a texture which almost seems to melt in one's mouth is an exquisite masterpiece that allows the diner to thoroughly enjoy the umami flavor of the premium meat. The lunch options that allow guests to enjoy Kobe beef and other carefully selected beef at reasonable prices are popular. With its classy yet relaxed atmosphere, many patrons use this restaurant for anniversaries or special occasions.

We booked a reservation here because we knew it was very popular. We wanted to come for lunch. Kobe beef is VERY expensive but we wanted to try it. This restaurant was founded in 1885 is well known...

This is a buta-manju (steamed pork bun) specialist shop established in 1915 in Kobe’s Nankinmachi Chinatown. It is known as the originator of the “buta-manju” and “buta-man,” created when the founders brought the Chinese “tenshin-pozu” to Japan and adapted for Japanese tastes. Fluffy dough overflowing with meat juices, the bun is a Nankinmachi Chinatown favorite with consistent queues to get one. Aside from takeout, there is also an eat-in space available. The nearest station is Motomachi Station.

So, prepare to line up for the small pork buns. It’s not that long of a wait anyway because the service is really fast unless you’re waiting to sit in the restaurant which you will need to wait for...

"This bakery and cafe is located in the Ikuta-cho, Chuo-ku, Kobe City. It was founded in 1924 by a German husband and Japanese wife team who popularized German bread in Japan, and were also the inspiration for the NHK serial television drama ""Kazamidori."" The bakery continues to bake not only German bread in a brick oven, but also cookies, pound cakes and other baked sweets, while the adjacent cafe serves sandwiches made with freshly baked bread, coffee and sweets."

While the food is good and the atmosphere pleasent, its not anything /too/ unusual or impressive. The church is great for the aesthetics, the cakes and sandwiches are wonderfully presented, but its...

"A handmade hamburger shop. Dedicated to the concept of creating burgers which nobody would call ""junk food,"" the restaurant serves handmade, additive free burgers. Customers can choose between two varieties of beef patties-Japanese black beef and Kobe beef. In addition to standard toppings like cheese, bacon, fried eggs, and avocados, the restaurant also offers homemade chili beans and blue cheese. There's also a stunning burger on the menu which consists of a Kobe beef patty topped with sliced Kobe beef steak."

Cute restaurant with a great selection of burgers! I had the avocado burger and it was delicious! Definitely recommend.

The shop's most popular item is the ""Koyama Roll,"" a roll cake which was created during the grand champion tournament on TV Tokyo's ""TV Champion."" Created based on the idea that ""simple is best,"" the cake consists of rich whipped cream mixed with a touch of custard and wrapped in a carefully air-fluffed sponge cake. This is a cheese and cheesecake specialist in Chuo Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, and in its simple modern Western-style interior is enshrined a statue of Kannon. The Denmark cheesecake, long loved in the streets of Kobe, is a blend of raw cheese said to come from the oldest recipe. Each one is an exquisite masterpiece, boasting a fresh-baked texture and rich-bodied flavor. The alcohol-free mild cheese fondue is also popular, with flavors including curry and basil. The cheesecake is also available for takeout.

For seafood, there's the popular and exquisite Miketsukuni seafood rice bowl, made with a special dipping sauce, Awaji rice, and choice seafood.

This veteran udon noodle shop is about ten minutes by car from Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway's Tsuna Ichinomiya Interchange. Founded 100 years ago, their excellent Awaji Island Udon combines the firmness of Sanuki udon with the chewiness of Osaka udon. They've maintained the same flavor since the beginning, taking pride in their healthful broth. Their freshly made kama-age udon noodles are only available at lunch. The most popular item on the menu is their Blooming Onion Tsukemen with fine, wavy house noodles and an entire onion blossom soaking in their naturally flavorful dipping broth.

Housed within Kobe’s oldest former foreign residence, and now completely renovated, is this French restaurant in Naniwa Town, Chuo Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. Popular dishes on the menu include the kyukyoryuchi (former foreign residence) beef stew made with caramelized onions and fresh pasta, and the colonial tea set with a selection of seasonal hors d’oeuvre and cakes. It’s worth noting that the colonial tea set is only available at certain times and in certain quantities. Easily accessible from Sannomiya Station and Motomachi Station.
