This well-established steak house that is located a three-minute walk from Sannomiya was founded in 1885. Ever since then they have been particular about the quality of their meat, and they also have good quality, thoroughly marbled Kobe beef on hand. The soft steak that has a texture which almost seems to melt in one's mouth is an exquisite masterpiece that allows the diner to thoroughly enjoy the umami flavor of the premium meat. The lunch options that allow guests to enjoy Kobe beef and other carefully selected beef at reasonable prices are popular. With its classy yet relaxed atmosphere, many patrons use this restaurant for anniversaries or special occasions.

We booked a reservation here because we knew it was very popular. We wanted to come for lunch. Kobe beef is VERY expensive but we wanted to try it. This restaurant was founded in 1885 is well known...

This restaurant is at the Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway's Awaji Service Area. It has a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes available, made with lots of seasonal Awaji Island ingredients. Their Awaji beef loin steak on rice smothered in a special sauce made with loads of Awaji grown onion comes recommended. They also have a curry in a small pot bursting with the tentacles of locally harvested octopus that's quite popular.

Stop on the way to Awaji from KIX. Many choice of food and nice view for dining. Fee hot green tea & water. Great view for the bridge but beware of eagle at the parking lot. Wifes ice cream cone...

This is a buta-manju (steamed pork bun) specialist shop established in 1915 in Kobe’s Nankinmachi Chinatown. It is known as the originator of the “buta-manju” and “buta-man,” created when the founders brought the Chinese “tenshin-pozu” to Japan and adapted for Japanese tastes. Fluffy dough overflowing with meat juices, the bun is a Nankinmachi Chinatown favorite with consistent queues to get one. Aside from takeout, there is also an eat-in space available. The nearest station is Motomachi Station.

So, prepare to line up for the small pork buns. It’s not that long of a wait anyway because the service is really fast unless you’re waiting to sit in the restaurant which you will need to wait for...

A steakhouse located in Kitanagasa-dori 1-Chome, Chuo Ward, Kobe City. The establishment serves steaks made with choice, top quality Kobe beef, and customers can enjoy watching as a chef prepares their meal with exquisite skill on an iron griddle right in front of your eyes. During lunchtime, the restaurant offers a reasonably priced steak lunch which comes with grilled vegetables, rice, and your choice of either a 100-gram or 150-gram steak.

Overhyped. Service was slow. Things didnt arrive until asked for. Giving the benefit of the doubt that a more experienced chef wouldve have picked up on the service. Beef was okay/good, but rest of...

This egg-on-rice specialty shop is on National Route 426 in Kurio, Tanto-cho, Toyooka City. They serve meal sets featuring fresh from the farm Kuritama eggs and just-cooked Yume-gokochi rice. Other items include plain omelets, chiffon cake, and coffee made with local spring water. Also on site are the Hyakusho-kan Farm Stand and the Tankuma Nibankan shop that sells confections made with egg.

A casual Chinese restaurant on the corner of Sannomiya Center Gai Shopping Street. Since its establishment in 1954, it's been serving Chinese food such as pork buns, and gyoza and shumai dumplings. The restaurants are on the building's second and third floors. It's great for a range of occasions, whether you're having a company gathering, bringing the children, or dining alone. Their signature pork buns that they steam right at the storefront have the same great flavor as their early days. They often sell 8,000 buns a day and they continue to be a classic Kobe gift.

This is one my my favorite places to eat Gyoza. They serve a big variety of delicious food and the prices are extremely affordable. A highly recommended place in Sannomiya.

This eatery is in front of Himeji Castle Ote-Mon Gate in Honmachi, Himeji City. They offer local Himeji cuisine including the down-home favorite Himeji Oden hot pot that comes as part of their Agehacho-gozen Japanese style meal sets. It has table seating for up to 100 guests, and tatami mat floor seating for up to 200. Along with their souvenir shop, it's great for sightseeing groups.

"A handmade hamburger shop. Dedicated to the concept of creating burgers which nobody would call ""junk food,"" the restaurant serves handmade, additive free burgers. Customers can choose between two varieties of beef patties-Japanese black beef and Kobe beef. In addition to standard toppings like cheese, bacon, fried eggs, and avocados, the restaurant also offers homemade chili beans and blue cheese. There's also a stunning burger on the menu which consists of a Kobe beef patty topped with sliced Kobe beef steak."

Cute restaurant with a great selection of burgers! I had the avocado burger and it was delicious! Definitely recommend.

This Akashi-yaki dumpling shop is in 5 Chome, Kajiya-cho, Akashi City. Using a fresh octopus purchased every morning from the Akashi Market, they offer simple yet succulent Akashi-yaki. They also serve an oden hotpot simmered with an entire octopus tentacle.

This long-standing Chinese restaurant is across from the Daimaru Kobe, a three-minute walk from Motomachi Station. It offers authentic Chinese cuisine while adapting tastes to suit the locals’ preferences, or as it puts it, “Guangdong cuisine born in Guangdong Province and raised in Kobe.” There are approximately 100 dishes available prepared using a variety of seasonings, including homemade oyster sauce made using persimmon extract from Hiroshima. In addition to staples chow mein and fried rice, there are also dishes such as fried shark fin as well as course meals. The restaurant interior is spacious and has a relaxed atmosphere, and there are private rooms as well.

They serve the local favorite Izushi Sara Soba made with whole ground buckwheat and water from the district. They say their soba is ""freshly ground, freshly prepared, and freshly cooked."""

All the cakes made with loving care combine just the right amount of aroma, texture, sweetness, sourness and bitterness to produce a well balanced flavor. This is a boulangerie in Goko-dori, Chuo Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, produced by the chef of a French restaurant. Focusing mainly on hard breads, they also have fluffy rectangular bread, side-dish bread, sandwiches, cakes and a variety of other original offerings. In the joint cafe one can eat the bread or cake bought at the boulangerie, or order from the food menu which includes hamburgers and sandwiches.

"This well-known Western confectionary shop, located a two-minute walk from Hanakuma Station, has been a local favorite since it opened in 1946. The shop is renowned for its simple, lightly-flavored fresh cakes. The shop's most popular confection is the ""Zakuro,"" which some say is the ultimate simple cake. The shop's signature product, great thought has been put into every detail, including using only egg yolks to make the sponge cake base, a unique three cream blend to make the whipped cream, and only domestic strawberries."

This veteran udon noodle shop is about ten minutes by car from Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway's Tsuna Ichinomiya Interchange. Founded 100 years ago, their excellent Awaji Island Udon combines the firmness of Sanuki udon with the chewiness of Osaka udon. They've maintained the same flavor since the beginning, taking pride in their healthful broth. Their freshly made kama-age udon noodles are only available at lunch. The most popular item on the menu is their Blooming Onion Tsukemen with fine, wavy house noodles and an entire onion blossom soaking in their naturally flavorful dipping broth.

Hyogo prefecture stretches from the north coast to the south coast on the western end of the popular Kansai region, encompassing verdant mountains, urban beaches, and fantastic historical sights. The prefecture's main attractions lie along the south coast at Kobe, the prefectural capital, a pretty harbor city best known for its production of the renowned Kobe beef, and Himeji, the home of Himeji Castle, one of the country's most beautifully preserved feudal castles, perched magically atop a hill.
