This factory and shop deals in snacks made with sea products. Reservations aren't required for their tours where you can watch them making octopus rice crackers from the viewing area. The shop offers about 40 varieties and there are samples available of most of them for you to try. Their thin baked Tako-usu Yaki rice crackers made with octopus, squid, and shrimp come recommended. They're flavorful, firm, and crispy. There is also a break area with free coffee.

We stopped here after visiting the shrine. Interesting place as they make various flavored rice crackers that you can try/taste and buy if you wish. Free coffee, nice clean tables and friendly staff...

Built in 1999, this was Kobe's first full-fledged outlet mall. It's on the coast overlooking Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the world. The mall has about 130 stores with boutiques and both international and domestic brands. Free and convenient shuttle buses run daily from JR Tarumi Station and Sanyo Tarumi Station. Besides the locals, the popular mall sees customers come from as far away as Osaka, Okayama, and Shikoku.

Made a stopover to the outlet on my way to Osaka. It took about an hour to and fro. I guess it is easier if you drive. Selection of goods are not too bad if you have a brand in mind. Do take a...

"A Western confectionary shop located a 10-minute drive from JR Shin-Sanda Station on the Fukuchiyama Line. The shop's most popular item is the ""Koyama Roll,"" a roll cake which was created during the grand champion tournament on TV Tokyo's ""TV Champion."" Created based on the idea that ""simple is best,"" the cake consists of rich whipped cream mixed with a touch of custard and wrapped in a carefully air-fluffed sponge cake. This tasty treat is further accented with a mildly sweet chestnut compote. The shop also offers other select Western-style sweets lovingly crafted by the shop's chef such as baumkuchen."

This is a cheese and cheesecake specialist in Chuo Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, and in its simple modern Western-style interior is enshrined a statue of Kannon. The Denmark cheesecake, long loved in the streets of Kobe, is a blend of raw cheese said to come from the oldest recipe. Each one is an exquisite masterpiece, boasting a fresh-baked texture and rich-bodied flavor. The alcohol-free mild cheese fondue is also popular, with flavors including curry and basil. The cheesecake is also available for takeout.
