FREUNDLIEB
"This bakery and cafe is located in the Ikuta-cho, Chuo-ku, Kobe City. It was founded in 1924 by a German husband and Japanese wife team who popularized German bread in Japan, and were also the inspiration for the NHK serial television drama ""Kazamidori."" The bakery continues to bake not only German bread in a brick oven, but also cookies, pound cakes and other baked sweets, while the adjacent cafe serves sandwiches made with freshly baked bread, coffee and sweets."
