    Fukushima Pref. Aiduwakamatsushi Omachi 1-1-25
A local cuisine shop that was established as a miso (bean paste) manufacturing and sales company in 1834. It is famous for Aizu Miso Dengaku which are skewered konjac and sticky rice balls, vegetables etc. flavored with a red miso sauce and grilled on a charcoal fire by a hearth. It has a rustic, relaxing atmosphere and is a popular place for tourists. There is a section in the shop selling Mitsuta-ya products including miso. They have a variety of souvenirs such as hand-pressed sesame oil and Takada Plums, a specialty of Aizu. The nearest station is Nanukamachi Station.

Most Japanese folks like this type of mochi (rice cake) dishes:mochi cakes on a skewer grilled with several original pastes.

Fukushima Pref. Aiduwakamatsushi Sakaemachi 5-31 (Kanedokido Alley)
This is a kappo-style and Aizu cuisine restaurant located in the center of Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. The restaurant is famous for the food served in the oval shaped bamboo lunch boxes (mage-wappa) traditionally used by the people of the mountain village of Hinoematamura in Aizu, called “wappa meshi”. The simple and delicate wooden boxes are full of local ingredients such as salmon, salmon roe, crabs, mountain vegetables, mushrooms, etc. The “kaiseki” cuisine that makes use of Aizu seasonal produce is also popular. The relocated old houses and restored historical buildings that have continued since the Kamakura period are also interesting. There are rooms ranging from private rooms for small groups to a large hall of 36.4 square meters.

This is my first-choice formal Japanese-dining restaurant in Aizu. It is a historic building where the shoguns representative used to stay while in Aizuwakamatsu. In fact, the main dining hall has a...

Syokudou Hasegawa is one of most well-known places for kitakata ramen, offering original soup flavors, miso ramen with homemade lard, and shoyu-shio (soy and salt) ramen topped only with leeks. Its chashu ramen, with Japan-grown boned rib pork boiled to perfection, is popular too. On weekends, they also offer a Kurohasegawa dish that drops the black curtain.

Hasegawa reopen now! We didn’t know the renewal of this ramen restaurant. It’s different from previous Hasegawa, taste looks different, staff changed. Although fine ramen, we love it. During GW they...

    Fukushima Koriyama-shi Ekimae 2-7-19
This Chinese restaurant is located on the shopping arcade at the west exit of Koriyama Station. This authentic Chinese cuisine shop is run by a family that once managed a station town inn in the old Edo period. The food served here is from the wide area of Szechuan and Canton, and has become a part of the scenery and history of Koriyama. The spacious shop interior and the herbal-medicine influenced Yakuzen Course meal makes this a very popular restaurant. They pay special care to customers' health, and use low-sodium soy sauce and alkaline water, and guests can substitute barley-rice for white rice.

Usually I enjoy drinking beer at this chines restaurant. Some Sichuan dishes is good for beer or any light drinks.

Since Masayuki Hoshina (Matsudaira) became lord of Aizu Domain in 1643, grated daikon radish soba has been called takato soba. As well as takato soba, visitors can also have kozuyu (a local soup) and tempura manju, traditional dishes usually served on auspicious occasions and ceremonial gatherings in Aizu.
