    Fukushima Pref. Kitakatashi Arai 6
Syokudou Hasegawa is one of most well-known places for kitakata ramen, offering original soup flavors, miso ramen with homemade lard, and shoyu-shio (soy and salt) ramen topped only with leeks. Its chashu ramen, with Japan-grown boned rib pork boiled to perfection, is popular too. On weekends, they also offer a Kurohasegawa dish that drops the black curtain.

Hasegawa reopen now! We didn’t know the renewal of this ramen restaurant. It’s different from previous Hasegawa, taste looks different, staff changed. Although fine ramen, we love it. During GW they...

A seafood restaurant located in Iwaki City. Located in front of the Onahama Fish Market, here you can enjoy dishes made with fresh fish straight from the market. In addition to sashimi, the restaurant serves stewed and broiled fish dishes; the restaurant's seafood rice bowls all come with crab miso soup. The restaurant also sells processed foods like hiraki filleted and dried fish and other fried seafoods.

Service was good. Food was ok. The whole smoked fish seems popular but may not be for everyones palate. Smoking restaurant so its a great respite for smokers.

Fukushima Pref. Aiduwakamatsushi Sakaemachi 5-31 (Kanedokido Alley)
This is a kappo-style and Aizu cuisine restaurant located in the center of Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. The restaurant is famous for the food served in the oval shaped bamboo lunch boxes (mage-wappa) traditionally used by the people of the mountain village of Hinoematamura in Aizu, called “wappa meshi”. The simple and delicate wooden boxes are full of local ingredients such as salmon, salmon roe, crabs, mountain vegetables, mushrooms, etc. The “kaiseki” cuisine that makes use of Aizu seasonal produce is also popular. The relocated old houses and restored historical buildings that have continued since the Kamakura period are also interesting. There are rooms ranging from private rooms for small groups to a large hall of 36.4 square meters.

This is my first-choice formal Japanese-dining restaurant in Aizu. It is a historic building where the shoguns representative used to stay while in Aizuwakamatsu. In fact, the main dining hall has a...

Fukushima Pref. Yamagunkitashiobaramura Hibara Kengamine 1093
A restaurant frequented by tourists in Urabandai, a sightseeing area in Kitashiobara Village, Yama County, Fukushima Prefecture. The restaurant interior is modern and calm; the terrace seating, offering a sweeping view of the beautiful Urabandai scenery, is particularly recommended on sunny days. One of the restaurant’s most popular menu items is its all-beef handmade hamburg steak. The hearty helping of the restaurant’s thick, homemade demi-glace sauce poured on top is what really pulls the flavor together. Other popular menu items include the Japanese Black beef round curry, and the lingonberry for dessert.

The best menu of this restaurant is Humberg with black pepper. It is expensive but has enough value. Window side table has beautiful scenery of Mt. Bandais scaras of a volcanic eruption. We should...

This local cuisine restaurant is located in Ouchi-juku, roughly 15 minutes by car from Yunokami-Onsen Station. The building still has its straw thatched roof, for an olden times sensation you can feel in your skin. They are careful to use 100% specially grown soba for their juwari soba. “Ten zarusoba” with freshly made soba and homemade vegetable tempura is popular. Also, you can purchase “shingoro” —local dish of Minami Aizu—in front too. A restaurant which has stood in the commercial district not far from Aizuwakamatsu Castle since 1971. The restaurant’s vaunted soba noodles are a select gem made with Aizu gen-soba buckwheat ground in the restaurant’s own factory. The restaurant’s yumemi soba noodles, served simply in just a bowl of the miraculous waters of Mt. Iide, are so delicious, diners are encouraged to start with an order of them. Kiriya Gongentei is also notable for its barrier free efforts, and in spite of its old fashioned Japanese home exterior, any differences in levels between rooms have been removed and there is an elevator which can accommodate wheelchairs providing access to the second floor.
