    The Sato Yosuke Flagship shop was founded in 1860, controls every step of the process meticulously, from ingredient selection to shipping, and manages everything in-house for their Inaniwa Dried Udon. At the Flagship Store, not only can you try the shop's products on-site off their full menu, you can also watch the master makers at work on a tour of the factory. There is also an attached tourist information center and shop selling Akita specialties.

    稲庭うどんのリーディングカンパニーである佐藤養助の総本店。キャンプの帰り道に立ち寄りました。訪れた日曜日のランチ時、駐車場には警備員が常駐。店内には実演コーナーと販売ブースが完備。食堂は、コロナ感染予防に配慮、アクリルの仕切りがある席もありました。 やはりうどんは美味しい。ツルツルシコシコがたまらない。会計時、うどんの端材も頂けました。

Marutama Shokudo’s Jumonji chuka soba is characterized by its light, transparent seafood and soy sauce broth and crimped thin noodles fans say resemble soba noodles in texture. The restaurant’s extensive menu also includes gomoku chuka soup filled with vegetables and yakiniku chuka topped with barbecued meat. Only during summer, Marutama Shokudo serves hiyashi chuka and hiyakkoi chuka, chilled Jumonji chuka soba. On hot days, these options become quite popular.

    Operated as a greengrocer in the prewar-period but started selling fried food including fried sweet potatoes in the latter half of the 1920s. Then, nearly 30-years ago, they started selling Oban-yaki and Oranda-yaki fried pastries. Now it's a soul food shop selling shaved ice in the summer and Oban-yaki and Oranda-yaki in the winter. It's got a reputation as being delicious and easy to eat as either a light meal or as a snack.

    関西ではまずないオランダ焼のお店。今川焼きの生地にハムとチーズが入っていて、甘塩風味で美味しかったです。お値段も100円と手ごろ。

    A local cuisine restaurant in Omachi Town, Akita City, Akita Prefecture, where one can taste Akita’s fresh seafood and mountain food. The menu is a lineup of Akita specialties including kiritanpo (mashed rice pressed on a skewer and toasted) and shottsuru (salted and fermented fish sauce), sandfish, hinaijidori (a cross between Hinai-Dori and Rhode Island Red Chickens), with kiritanpo being served with the most pride. The kiritanpo using Akitakomachi rice from the Senpoku plain is known for its sweetness and aroma, and are rolled and baked stick by stick. The tasty aroma one gets from a sip of the hinaijidori broth soup is another draw for visitors. Aside from counter seats there are also private rooms and sunken kotatsu (warmer) seats, allowing you to enjoy your meal in peace.

    A well-known udon & soba shop in an old temple school building of a former samurai residence, in Kakunodate Town, Semboku City, Akita Prefecture. The specialties are a smooth rice plant udon using hinaijidori chicken or maitake mushroom, and locally-produced buke soba with buckwheat flour aroma bamboo shoot and beefsteak plant (macrophyll) tempura inside. It is a popular tourist spot for its exterior and interior that still retain the atmosphere of the Edo period.

    Excellent Oyako-don which is the best one in my life. Also Inaniwa udon with egg plant tempura is very good.

    A sightseeing cruise dock and cafe along National Route 103 in Yasumitai, Towadako, Kosaka Town, Kazuno County. With a reservation you can take a sightseeing cruise to see Lake Towada. The attached cafe serves apple pie made with Aomori apples as well as sherbet and light meals as you can also enjoy BBQ on the shore of Lake Towada (reservation required).

    Warm apple pie, flaky golden pastry. Also a great view of the lake from the cabin or the lakeside patio.
