    This long-established sushi restaurant that opened in 1908 is a three-minute walk from Ugata Station. The fourth-generation owner was born and raised in Shima and specializes in hand-rolled sushi, and many loyal customers and tourists flock to this restaurant. The fish, which are caught from Ise Shima’s harbor the same day, taste and glisten like none other. Aside from hand-formed sushi, chirashi-zushi (bed of rice with sprinkled ingredients), and rolled sushi, there’re also seafood rice bowls, set meals, and daily lunch sets. The shop has a subdued ambience with counter, table, and tatami seating.

    鵜方駅から徒歩5分ほどの場所にあります。三重県の郷土料理のてこねずしも食べられました。とても美味しく、アットホームな雰囲気で居心地が良かったです。

The shop’s name means “person who livens up the party” in French and the theme of the shop is to be a French Bistro overflowing with laughter. The foodie-loving chef hand picks all of the locally sourced ingredients and the diverse menu contains not only set courses but also lunch plates and a la carte options. Depending on season they offer such dishes rock oysters from Uramura or mussels from Toba. The “Madame” who is qualified as a sommelier warmly welcomes you.

    伊勢参りに行った際に夕食を食べに訪れました。お料理はアラカルトで注文いたしましたが、どれも分量がたっぷりですし、美味しく頂きました。

    This café is located on the first floor of the Ise Tourism and Culture Hall, just a short walk from Kintetsu Ujiyamada Station. The interior has a slow paced, relaxed feeling with white walls, wooden furniture, and green houseplants. Their expansive drink menu includes black teas, Chinese teas, and a coffee blend with a refreshing aftertaste. They offer sweets and snack as well. Whipped cream and homemade black tea jams top their popular fluffy chiffon cakes and scones. Live music and other events are held here irregularly.

    時間調整のため夕刻、久しぶりにお邪魔しました。ホットコーヒーをお願いして、宇治山田駅を望むソファに座って文庫本を片手にのんびりと。こちらは様々な形や材質の椅子やテーブルがあって面白いですね。 (残念なこと)最近、周りの迷惑顧みず大声で喋る迷惑なひとが増えました。老人が多いようです。ここでも迷惑人が入ってきて、不快でした。お店は客を中々選べないしね。

    This teahouse, famous for “Kamiyo-mochi” rice cake, an Ise delicacy, is run by the store “Senokuniya” and located in Ujiimazaike Town in Ise City, Mie Prefecture. The rice cakes are made using natural mugwort and brown rice and pound the rice using a traditional method. They are popular served with Ise tea. The “zenzai” (red bean soup), “iced monaka” (bean jam-filled wafers), and other seasonal offerings are popular as well. The store, built in an old warehouse in 1934, has old-fashioned light fixtures and a rotary phone.

    伊勢神宮内宮のおはらい通りと並行した御幸通り(国道23号線)沿いにある茶房。お土産物店として老舗の勢乃国屋の姉妹店で静かな通りで店内も落ち着いてゆっくり出来ます。ぜんざい抹茶セットが美味しかったです。神代餅も食べられます。こちらの通りも歩いて見たらいかがでしょうか。

    小さなお店を想像していたら、駐車場完備の大きな構えのお店。生菓子だけでなくバームクーヘンや小焼き菓子などもいろいろありました。喫茶もあり、ケーキにはソフトクリームがつきました。生菓子は華やかでクリームが美味しい。飲みものはケーキセットもあり、ジュースやコーヒーはおかわり自由でした。

    You’ll find this confectionery inside “Okage Yokocho” area next to Naiku, Ise-jingu Shrine in Ise City, Mie Prefecture, marked by a signboard with an old coin. This small shop brims with old-fashioned Japanese charm and is always full of tourists. There are 150 varieties of sweets available, including “karinto” (fried dough cookies), candy, wheat-gluten snacks, rice crackers, and more. The most popular is the “waraji karinto”, which is as big as a straw sandal. All the sweets are traditional, relatively healthy, and great as gifts or eating as you walk about.

    This classical Japanese house styled café is in the Okage Yokocho area near Inner Ise Shrine in Ise, Mie. Everything from the classic look to every seat gazing over the Isuzugawa River lends to the soothing atmosphere. Both their rich, bitter, exquisite dark roast coffee, and their mellow light roast, made in genuine Nel drip coffee makers, are very popular. Their roll cake, made with Japanese Wasanbon sugar, available in a combo dish is highly praised.

    This place serves nice coffee with an excellent view from the window. You can see the staff making coffee. I enjoy the view while having coffee.

Their thick white noodles have a springy mouthfeel that blends well with the sauce they make from deep flavored tamari soy sauce and broth made from natural kelp and dried bonito.     伊勢神宮の名物といえば伊勢うどんです。 おかげ横丁にある有名店でたくさん人がいますが、意外と回転は早いです。 伊勢うどんをメインに各種トッピングとちょっとのお酒とつまみがあります。 海老天付き伊勢うどんは天ぷらが大きくて立派でした。 一度はどこかで伊勢うどん食べておくと良いと思います。

    This tofu specialty restaurant in Kawasaki, Ise, Mie, is located in a remodeled traditional Japanese townhouse. They are very proud of their tofu making method with uses the entire soybean and leaves no dregs. Their freshly made Masu-Tofu which has yet to have the water extracted is a masterpiece that strongly preserves the sweetness and the flavor of the soybeans. They also offer a variety of creative tofu dishes including fried tofu or their Daigo Tofu (Ultimate Tofu) dipped in strong tamari-soy sauce or other seasonings. Tofu zukushi no gozen and yuba (tofu skin) gozen are popular.

    伊勢で古くから栄えた地区である河崎の一角にある豆腐料理店です。ランチで利用しましたが、男性でも満足できるほどのしっかりした内容でした。豆腐を中心にしたあっさり系の料理が自慢の店でしょうが、個人的にはここの豆腐コロッケが好きです。

    This longstanding Shima confectionery produces and sells traditional Japanese sweets and is known for its “Sawa mochi” rice cakes, which won the Audition Chief’s Prize at the 22nd National Confection Exposition in Japan. It’s a unique sweet in which plenty of bean jam is stretched into a thin layer and stuffed between two halves of a rice cake. There are two types: white and mugwort. It has a long history and has been an essential part of Shima events since 1830, the Edo period.

Spread across the eastern side of the Kii Peninsula, Mie prefecture boasts hundreds of kilometers of pretty coastline comprising the oyster-rich Toba city and Shima National Park all the way down to Kumano, a city that marks the beginning of part of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, which runs into neighboring Wakayama prefecture. However, Mie is best known for the Ise Jingu Shinto shrine inland, one of the oldest and largest shrines in the country.
