The pudding is made using eggs from cochins and combined with vanilla mousse to give it a chick-like appearance. The cute appearance spread on social media and made it a popular product. The “Piyorin” snack is sold during certain seasons and events as well, with “Piyorin shortbread” and “Piyorin chocolate” making popular souvenirs.

Just had a coffe here while killing some time in between two business meetings. Coffee was OKish, relatively weak.

A restaurant which orders select eel from various areas depending on the season. Shirakawa’s hitsumabushi eel over rice is prepared with particular care and is extraordinary. Rich and flavorful, the hitsumabushi is made with a secret sauce which has been fermented, used, and topped off for decades; domestic brand-name rice; and a thin dashi stock. Pour hot tea over your rice leftovers to enjoy them chazuke style. The chef’s eye for quality ingredients, knife mastery, and intuition for when the eel is perfectly grilled all contribute to an overwhelming sense of craftsmanship (and flavor) that delights even the most discerning eel-lover. Located a two minute walk from Joshin Station on the Tsurumai Line.

The restaurant is located on the 9th floor of Meitetsu Building along side with 8-10 other restaurants. Waiting time as displayed outside is about 20-30 mins. At about 4+, there is no queue but you...

This eel specialty restaurant, famous for their version of the Nagoya specialty hitsumabushi (eel rice bowl), is located in the Esca Underground Shopping Center beneath Nagoya Station. Their hitsumabushi uses carefully selected eels which are covered with their secret sauce that uses a rich tamari-soy sauce base and cooked over ubame oak charcoal to create a luxuriant sweet-smelling dish. The taste of the crisp grilled skin is unbelievable. Their kimoyaki (grilled eel liver) and shirayaki (unseasoned grilled eel) are also popular menu items. Being located right next to the bullet train ticket gates this is the perfect place to round off a business trip or vacation.

I was looking for take out and decided to go for hitsumabushi once again. So I went to ESCA and stumbled upon this restaurant. First impression was that this must be good since there is a long queue...

The restaurant also has private dining areas which are popular both with families and people holding welcome/send-off parties.

This buffet restaurant is on the 13th floor of JR Central Towers, complex facilities directly connected to Nagoya Station, in 1 Chome, Meieki, Nakamura Ward, Naogoya City. It's run by Iga no Sato Mokumoku Tezukuri Farm in Iga City Mie Prefecture. They sell reliable and healthy food featuring produce straight from the farm, prepared products with ham, etc. Customers can also order vegetables from the farm, delivered fresh daily.

That’s a very new things for me and it’s a buffet style. Their gimmick are the farm products. Besides, have so many choices of dishes. Fresh and delicious. Plus! It’s not expensive for one person.

Spaghetti House Yokoi is a restaurant on the basement first floor of the KITTE Nagoya shopping mall situated in JP Tower Nagoya which is connected to Nagoya Station. This restaurant is a branch of the Yokoi chain said to be the home of the Nagoya specialty, ankake (a thick starchy sauce) spaghetti. The punchy ankake meat sauce is mixed well with thick noodles and garnished with plenty of toppings. Their ‘mirakan’ dish, made with red Vienna sausage, ham, bacon and vegetables is so popular it should be synonymous with the restaurant.

Aichi Areas

around-area-map

Aichi is a prefecture of great natural beauty with Nagoya city at its heart, a busy hub home to a labyrinth of underground shops and the 17th-century Nagoya Castle. Castles are easy to find in this history-rich prefecture, but the highlight for history buffs has to be the Museum Meiji-mura, where preserved buildings from the turn of the 20th century are displayed in all their grandeur in an outdoor museum.
