A casual Chinese restaurant on the corner of Sannomiya Center Gai Shopping Street. Since its establishment in 1954, it's been serving Chinese food such as pork buns, and gyoza and shumai dumplings. The restaurants are on the building's second and third floors. It's great for a range of occasions, whether you're having a company gathering, bringing the children, or dining alone. Their signature pork buns that they steam right at the storefront have the same great flavor as their early days. They often sell 8,000 buns a day and they continue to be a classic Kobe gift.

This is a cheese and cheesecake specialist in Chuo Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, and in its simple modern Western-style interior is enshrined a statue of Kannon. The Denmark cheesecake, long loved in the streets of Kobe, is a blend of raw cheese said to come from the oldest recipe. Each one is an exquisite masterpiece, boasting a fresh-baked texture and rich-bodied flavor. The alcohol-free mild cheese fondue is also popular, with flavors including curry and basil. The cheesecake is also available for takeout.

This is not the “usual” cheesecake that most people are familiar with. It’s melted Denmark cheese on a sponge cake. Nevertheless, the cheesecake is delightful and easy on the palate. There are no...

Tea Room Mahisa, situated about three minutes on foot from Sannomiya Station, opened in 1987 as a tea shop. Their signature tea is the Mahisa-ryu (style), a milky tea made by adding milk to a strong tea brewed with plenty of tea leaves. Famed for its flavor direct from the tea plantations, and different to that of British tea, the tea shop uses tea leaves separately for its milk tea and straight tea. The scones and cakes which go well with the richly flavored tea are also popular. Inside, the tea shop is not overly bright and has a relaxed atmosphere.

Located on a street with many Ijinkan (Western-style residences built in Japanese port cities in the 19th century), Totenkaku is actually an authentic Chinese restaurant. It is situated in a historic building dating back to 1894, which was the residence of a German national named F. Bishop. The interior of the restaurant has the unique atmosphere that characterizes many Ijinkan residences. The food served as Totenkaku is authentic Chinese Palace Cuisine, from a culinary tradition based on 70 years of intensive research. Besides regular table seating, private rooms are also available, making this a restaurant suitable for a wide range of different functions.

"A long-standing bakery founded in 1946. Since then they've been making tasty bread that they hope ""becomes a long-term part of people's lives."" The talented second-generation proprietor is the first Kobe baker to be certified a Kobe Master by the city. To maintain the flavor of the ingredients, they do everything at the shop from scratch, including kneading and fermenting the dough and baking the bread. Their ""Hard Yamashoku"" loaf with its crispy yet chewy texture has won the Prime Minister's Award at the National Confectionery Exposition."

    元町駅近で便利です。ただ他のパン屋と別に変わりはなく神戸らしさなどがあるわけではありません。普段使い用な印象です。

A cafe located close to Minato Park an eight-minute walk from JR Motomachi Station. As suggested by its name, one of the most distinct things about the cafe is its decor, which consists of various fish decorations scattered amongst a green, botanical garden-like space. Here customers can enjoy pastas, pizzas, and cakes made with seasonal ingredients, as well as smoothies only offered at this location. The cafe has three reservation only party plans which include differing numbers of dishes and which all include a 120 minute all-you-can-drink period with a selection of some 100 drinks. The cafe can also be rented out for large groups. In the summer, the cafe opens up a beer garden as well.

"A restaurant specializing in Japanese barbecue on rice and Japanese barbecue meal sets. It's across from the overpass north of Sannomiya Station. The restaurant has two sections; the first floor mainly has counter seating and serves Japanese barbecue on rice, and the second floor is more of a typical space for enjoying Japanese barbecue. They've been making their premium beef rib on rice with its secret sauce since their founding. This popular ""Gokujoo Karubi Don"" has been showcased in the media many times. The mouthwatering sweet and salty sauce has a garlicky kick. The second floor serves a special Japanese black beef course and has an all-you-can-eat menu, making it great for leisurely eating Japanese barbecue with your family and friends."

A casual Spanish bar. The cozy establishment's stylish decor engenders a relaxing atmosphere. Popular menu selections include the bar's small, Spanish style tapas dishes, including such standards as shrimp ajillo, dry-cured ham, and Spanish omelets. The tapas assortment, a selection of bite-sized dishes served on a single plate, is particularly popular. Meat tapas sets which come with roast beef, ham, or steak are perfect for customers looking to enjoy a more hearty meal.

"A Western confectionary shop located in the Piazza Kobe underground shopping mall close to JR Sannomiya Station. An orthodox cake shop, its display cases are filled with lovingly crafted, colorful cakes and tarts. Particularly popular is the shop's slightly unusual take on Mont Blanc, which consists of meringue in place of chestnut cream piled high in a cone shape and lightly toasted with a burner. This confection was featured on the Nagoya Broadcasting Network television program ""Udo-chan no Tabishite Gomen."""

Designed around the concept of authentic Chinese cuisine served in a relaxing, casual atmosphere, the establishment is much more laid back compared with Shinsenkaku. The menu primarily consists of authentic, spicy Beijing dishes, include Peking duck, steamed chicken, shark fin soup, and stir-fried oysters. The restaurant's dishes made with seasonal ingredients, only available at certain times of the year, are also popular.

Hyogo prefecture stretches from the north coast to the south coast on the western end of the popular Kansai region, encompassing verdant mountains, urban beaches, and fantastic historical sights.
