Irohado’s popular oyaki are prepared one at a time by hand, the wheat and buckwheat flour dough stuffed with local farm and mountain vegetables, mushrooms, and other fillings. Oven baked rather than steamed, Irohado’s oyaki have an addictively crisp crust. Inside, you can enjoy your oyaki with a cup of tea near the shop’s old-fashioned sunken hearth. Located right next to the entrance to the road leading to the Zenkoji Temple.

    My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience. The food was so tasty and beautiful and the staff was absolutely amazing as well! I would definitely come here again!

Surrounded by plants and painted salmon orange on the outside, inside the stylish, wood-accented restaurant is decorated with antiques imported from Italy. The Milano-style pizza, made with an abundance of fresh mozzarella cheese, is particularly recommended.

The shop sorts its choice chestnuts while still fresh based on sweetness and tenderness, using only specific types of chestnuts for specific recipes to ensure customers can enjoy the innate deliciousness of chestnuts.

    An elegant French restaurant which fully makes use of the attractive building it operates out of, a designated National Tangible Cultural Property. This red brick, Western-style building was originally built in 1912 as an office for the Shinanochu Gyuba Goshi Kaisha shipping company. In addition to its standard menu, on Tuesdays with an advance reservation, customers can savor a full course French meal prepared by Hideyo Kitamura, one of Nagano's top French cuisine masters.

    Lunch set was very nice, pleasant place. Unfortunately, the salmon that I have inquire about was not really smoked, as shown in the photo and as I was told. It was more cooked, but still it was nice.

Established in 1890, this well-reviewed restaurant has continued to make soba noodles according to a traditional recipe and production method for three generations and received three registered trademarks in 1972. The restaurant's signature Ippin Gozen Soba noodles are made with buckwheat flour from Nagano and have a rich buckwheat flavor.

    長野市の善光寺表参道にあるそば屋さんです。店名の「クイチ」にちなみ、つなぎがかなり少ないそばが味わえます。個人的にはつなぎが少ない方が風味が増すので好きなんですけどね。信州人は基本的にざるそばですが、温かいそばのメニューも充実していて観光客にもオススメです。

The noodle soup is made with a special soy sauce with no added food additives. All the soba noodles are freshly made by hand so the restaurant closes for the day once they have run out. The spacious restaurant has ample seating with 24 seats each on tatami mats and at tables.

The shop sells various goods in collaboration with a hand towel shop, Kamawanu, and they also have Zenkoji Temple ‘Yawataya Isogoro’ peppers, popular as souvenirs from Shinshu. Additionally, they sell Shinshu miso, Shinshu fruit jam, honey, and Western and Japanese style confectionery among other things. The shop has a full take-out menu and their soba crepes and soba galettes can only be tasted here. They also have limitedly available foods on the menu too.

All seating is private seating, for true indulgence in the famous “koi koku” or any of the local cuisine handed down over generations. It is also adjacent to “Oshokujidokoro Umetaya” where you can drop in for some set meals.

    松代の名産といえば長芋があげられます。そのとろろを、味わえるお店です。松代のメイン通り沿いにある風情のある食事処です。駐車場が少なかったのが少し残念ですが、とろろの旨みは絶品でした。粘り気があってご飯がすすみます。
