This soba restaurant located at the entrance to the Okusha Shrine of Togakushi Shrine was designed by architect Kengo Kuma. From the wall to ceiling glass window you can look out to the nature beyond while enjoying a bowl of soba or some sweet delights. The restaurant serves a variety of handmade and characteristically soft, smooth textured soba noodles. Their soba soft ice-cream is a popular dessert. They also have Shinshu apple soft ice-cream as well as limitedly available ice-cream flavors.

蕎麦の香りがしっかりとした戸隠そば

戸隠神社の奥社の入り口にある蕎麦屋さんです。古民家風の外観ですが、店内はガラスの壁が開放感のある空間でした。お蕎麦は蕎麦の香りがしっかりとする、ホロホロの手打ちそばでとても美味しかったです。子ども用のとりわける食器なども用意して頂き、キッズフレンドリーでした。お昼前に到着しましたが6組待ちだったので、ランチタイムは時間に余裕をもって入店した方が良さそうです。

家族3人で、奥社にお参りする前によってソバを食べた。戸隠ソバの流儀は、そうめんのように一口づつ束になって盛られること。ズズッと食べて、偉大な登りの参道に挑んだ。
奥社参りのご褒美

奥社詣りの後に入口に有った茶屋でソフトクリームを買いました。韃靼そばとくまざさソフトクリームを頼みました。くまざさソフトクリームは抹茶に近い味てとても美味しく濃厚でした。ご褒美でした。この後は蕎麦を食べに出掛けます。
