This is a restaurant well-known as the original restaurant of the Shimabara delicacy “Guzoni”, standing right across from Shimabara Castle. Guzoni is prepared by boiling vegetables such as shirona (a leafy vegetable), lotus root etc., with chicken meat, conger eel, and omelette in a soup stock. The wonderful flavor of the bonito stock soup is so popular, people queue to eat here. In addition to Guzoni dishes, there are various set menus to choose from. It is a nine-minute walk from Shimabara Station.

This tourism facility also has a large observatory commanding a view of Tachibana Bay, which has even been selected for inclusion in the Japanese 100 Best Scenery list. The facility sells Nagasaki's famous castella cakes and other souvenirs, as well as a wide range of other items, up to and including crafts from across the Kyushu region. There's also a stand which sells the facility's own original and signature Jaga-chan deep-fried potato balls. Meanwhile, a large cafeteria occupying the first and second floors serves a large selection of local dishes such as Nagasaki chanpon and sara udon noodles. This cafeteria has a lot of seating and, with a reservation made at least one day in advance, can even accommodate large tour groups. In the summer, the facility holds a special summer festival as well as nagashi-somen noodle slide events.

A cafe and restaurant located inside the Unzen Fukudaya ryokan inn situated along the Unzen Road in Unzen, Obama-cho, Unzen City. During lunchtime, the establishment serves dishes such as juwari soba noodles made with 100% buckwheat flour from Takaki-cho, Isahaya; Unzen style omelet and Hayashi rice, and a steak lunch consisting of Nagasaki wagyu beef served on a lava rock plate. There's also a terrace seating area where guests of the inn can enjoy a beer after soaking in the inn's bathhouse. From 9 p.m., the establishment turns into a bar which plays golden oldies.

"This Japanese confectionery shop is located in Unzen, Obama-cho, Unzen City along the Unzen Road. It is known for Unzen's famous snack ""Yusenpei,"" made one by one in a mold using flour, eggs, sugar and hot spring water. Besides selling sweets such as ""Unzen Toramaki"" with bean paste rolled in tiger-patterned dough and ""Unzen Jagaimo Yokan"" using specially produced potatoes, it conducts workshops to hand-bake ""Yusenpei"" (reservation required)."

湯けむり立ち昇る雲仙温泉、温泉街の中心に甘い香りがほのかに香るお店があります。遠江屋さんは、雲仙名物湯せんぺいのお店です。金型に生地を流し込み、一枚一枚丁寧に焼き上げる、昔ながらの「純一枚手焼き」。店頭で実演していてその様子を見ることができます。湯せんぺい焼きたて(みみ付)を頂きました。素朴で優しいお味のお煎餅です。

Located in Uenomachi, Shimabara City, the café is housed in the Blue Barber Shop, a wooden Western-style building built as a barbershop in the Taisho era (1912-1926) and designated as a tangible cultural property. The second floor of the store is used as a mini-gallery.

島原駅から徒歩5分。小さな商店街にある旧理髪店(小林理髪舘)で、現在は喫茶店になっている。レトロ感あふれる建物は1923年築で国の登録有形文化財に指定されている。島原町歩きの一服にはピッタリの場所でしょう。

小浜温泉の足湯近くにあるケーキ屋さんで、ショーケースにいろんなケーキがありました。パンもおいしく、とくにクロワッサンがさくさくでおいしかったです。お土産にいちごのバームクーヘンを買いましたが、それもおいしかったです。

The shop sells more than 10 varieties of gelato at any given time, and customers can enjoy a variety of flavors spanning everything from staples like matcha green tea and cocoa, to unusual things like sesame and tomato. The Obama salted milk gelato is the most popular flavor and, as its name implies, is sprinkled with natural salt from Obama Onsen. You'll also find limited time flavors such as cherry blossom. ジェラートというより、ソフトクリームに近いような感じでした。2種類の味を同時に注文でき、寒かったけど、頑張って食べました。すごくおいしかったです。お客が少ないので、待たずに注文できて良かったです。

Good food and a nice ambiance. This place is a good choice for staple japanese foods such as soba but also small bites are available. The best choice for food outside of the ryokan in Unzen.

The restaurant's chanpon has a light flavor and customers can choose to have it made with or without eggs. The restaurant's chanpon, which has even been featured in various media, is so popular, it sells out at times. The Irishio Gozen meal, which is made with seasonal ingredients available at that time of year, is also highly regarded. The restaurant also offers a variety of staples such as donburi rice bowls, udon and other noodles, and teishoku set meals. Tachibana Bay can be seen from inside the establishment.

お目当の小浜ちゃんぽん以外にもいろいろなメニューがありました。刺身、アラ煮、海老フライ定食など、どれも美味しそう。ちゃんぽんは海鮮の出汁が効いたサラッとしたスープで美味しいです。少ししょっぱいかな。お昼時、人気店らしくどんどんお客さんが来てあっという間に満席になってました。
