    Tokyo Shinjuku-ku Kagurazaka 4-8
A Japanese restaurant that feels like a secret hideaway located in Iidabashi, Kagurazaka. Oishinbo offers elegant yet hearty meals like charcoal-grilled seasonal fish, soy milk yuba cream croquettes made with a rich cream mixed with Kyoto-style miso, and shabu-shabu with cherry anthias and turnip with wakame seaweed. For lunch, Oishinbo serves soba noodles, rice bowls, and kaiseki course meal-style dishes; at night, the restaurant has course meals which start with appetizers, end with dessert, and include all-you-can-drink. Oishinbo is perfect for a wide variety of dining purposes and provides a selection of unique private dining rooms, such as the two-person Kakushi attic loft.

A retreat-like, Japanese izakaya pub, surrounded by a black wooden fence, stands quietly in a back alley in Kagurazaka. First timer here ever go back and forth to Japan since 2012. Staff were really...

    Tokyo Chiyoda-ku Kandasudacho 1-11-1
A restaurant specializing in goosefish cuisine located a five-minute walk from JR Akihabara Station and Kanda Station. This history-leaden restaurant was established at the end of the Edo period in 1830. Originally opened as a loach restaurant close to what is now Kyobashi 3 Chome, since the modern Taisho period this establishment has been beloved as the only dedicated goosefish restaurant in Tokyo. The old-fashioned and imposing restaurant building itself has been designated a Historic Building by the Tokyo government. In addition to the main dining area, the restaurant has relaxing private dining rooms where you can savor anko nabe, a flavorful hotpot steeped in tradition made with only the freshest goosefish from the Kazamaura Sea.

It was the first time for me to try monkfish. We enjoyed it with various cooking styles and they were all good. We also liked their old, traditional building.

This Japanese style beef cutlet shop is based around Kyoto style cuisine. Sirloin is selected with care for its red meat and flavor, and is fried medium rare for 60 seconds after being coated with the finest panko bread crumbs for a crisp breading in a perfect harmony with the juicy meat. Their biggest seller is the Beef Shoulder-roast Cutlet plate. They have a variety of sauces including our favorite wasabi-soy sauce, as well as sansho pepper salt, special sauce, Japanese curry dashi, for four different taste delights.

I was walking around Yodobashi and went up to the 8th floor and I found this restaurant here that attracted me with its menu of gyukatsu varieties. I ordered the sirlion with tongue set and its so...

Tokyo Areas

around-area-map

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
