Come enjoy traditional Southern-Ehime Taimeshi, rice with sea bream in this Japanese-style restaurant. In the central (Chuyo) and eastern (Toyo) regions, grilled whole sea breams are cooked with rice, but in the southern (Nanyo) region, around Rinsuke here in Uwajima, it features raw sliced sea bream which is placed on rice along with a special soy-sauce based sauce and egg yolk. Many restaurants will dissolve the egg yolk in a dashi fish broth, but here along with shredded nori and ground sesame seeds, a whole egg yolk is placed on top of the fresh sliced sea beam that completely covers the rice. Another popular menu item that is also served with their special sauce is a boiled barley and rice dish mixed with grated yam.

This restaurant, directly supplied by a fishmonger, is located very near to the Dogo Onsen Honkan in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture and is recognizable by its cute mural of tanuki racoon dogs. All tables inside are sunken kotatsu (heated tables) and there is a calm atmosphere. The local cuisine using seasonal seafood from the Seto Inland Sea is popular; it includes the Uwajima-style sea bream rice, a local specialty. Popular dishes are the local cuisine set lunch which has limited availability of carefully-selected, reasonably-priced seafood and the kamameshi rice pot set.

This goods shop&restaurant is located in front of the Murakami Suigun Museum on Oshima Island at Shimanami Kaido. This 140-year old remodeled merchant’s house with its historical ambience has been designated a registered tangible cultural property. Interior décor like its furniture and tableware is reminiscent of those days gone by. The restaurant uses Japanese buckwheat flour and Uchiko-grown vegetables. Their “Noasobi Bento” lunch box with local seasonal ingredients is always popular. The second floor is used as a gallery. In addition to selling local traditional crafts, events are held on a regular basis.
