This large tourist farm in Kita Ward, Kumamoto City offers a variety of seasonal fruits picking including grapes, apples, and strawberries. They also have their own store on-site. Stop by their KICHIJIEN café for some fresh fruit soft serve ice cream. From the farm there's a nice view of the town and the nearby mountains.

This is a tourism farm located approximately 20 minutes by car from the JR Kami-Kumamoto Station, and only 30 minutes from the Kumamoto Castle. Here, one can enjoy picking mikan citrus and grapes, or purchase fruit from the direct sales store. The fruits that are harvested here include mikans, grapes, Japanese pears, persimmons, peaches, and strawberries. Visitors can also buy farm fresh eggs, go digging for bamboo shoots, or search for chestnuts. The cafe, Kawayuka, located in the farm serves dishes and desserts using the freshly picked fruits from the farm.

Kumamoto Areas

around-area-map

Kumamoto lies in the center of Kyushu, a calm prefecture perfect for easy strolls around the historic center and lazy evenings in the natural hot springs at Kurokawa Onsen. For a slightly more strenuous activity, head to Mount Aso, whose surrounding hills offer hiking opportunities aplenty with views over the active volcano.
