    Hiroshima Pref. Hatsukaichishi Miyajimachou In the autumnal park
    A ropeway connecting Shishiiwa Station at the top of the sacred mountain (Mt. Misen) with Momijidani Station at the foot of the mountain, in Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Mt. Misen is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with Itsukushima Shrine. There are still so many things to see here, such as the untouched natural primeval forest, amazing rock formations, shrines and temples, as well as an observation deck. Passengers can enjoy magnificent views of the natural scenery and deep blue sea down below from inside the gondolas. The journey time takes approximately 14 minutes. The mid-way Kayatani Station is used only for transfers so passengers cannot get off here.

    Rokai Boat is a sightseeing boat powered by hand which takes tourists to see the floating Itsukushima Shrine in Miyajima Town, Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The boat leaves every 30 minutes or so only during the day at high tide. Boat trips last for approximately 20 minutes. In the time of the shogun, Taira no Kiyomori, it is said that it was proper for a visit to the shrine be made by boat. It is still possible to relive the experience of passing beneath the great torii gate as it would have been at the time. Photos can be taken of the torii gate and Itsukushima Shrine from the boat. Tourists can enjoy the scenery of Miyajima, a world heritage site, while listening to the gently lapping waves and guided commentary. Boats do not depart at low tide.

The orchard also has a golf putting course and rents all the equipment necessary, ensuring people of all ages can easily enjoy a round of putting golf. The thatched roof rest building is open to being used as a barbecue ground, and visitors can have a relaxing time barbecuing, making this a destination where everyone from children to adults can enjoy an entire, fun-filled day.

    梨、ぶどう狩セットで訪問しました。梨は愛甘水系、ぶどうはオーロラブラックという品種でした。農園のおじさんがレトロな軽自動車で畑まで送迎してくれます。急かす事もなく「ゆっくり好きなのを選んで下さい」と、親切に対応してくれました。食べ放題ではないので、滞在時間は20-30分程度になってしまうと思います。

    This pleasure boat affords tourists great views of the natural beauty of the Taishakukyo Gorge scenic spot which typifies the Hiba-Dogo-Taishaku Quasi-National Park. The journey takes about 40 minutes around the 24 kilometer circumference artificial lake, known as Shinryu Lake, centered inside the gorge. Along the boat trip are many things to see such as the 40 meter high natural bridge, Onbashi Bridge, and the red bridge, Momiji Bridge. The changing view of all the trees dotted between the limestone rock walls from season to season is wonderful, with most tourists coming to visit during the autumn when the colorful leaves are at their best. The boat pier is about 10 minutes by car from Tojo Station, or get off at the Shinryu-ko bus stop.

    Enjoy the sights offered by the “city of water” from atop a boat on this river cruise. Boarding takes place on the Motoyasugawa Pier in front of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. The entire trip requires about 25 minutes and takes passengers on a cruise along the Ota River, passing by the Genbaku Dome (Atomic Bomb Dome), a World Heritage Site, on the way. The boat, which used to be used by the Huis Ten Bosch theme park in Nagasaki, has a very exotic design. Feel the gentle breeze on top of the water and experience Hiroshima in a way that walking can’t match. The boarding area is about a three-minute walk from Genbaku Dome-mae Station on the Hiroden Line.

    This agriculture, forestry, and fisheries activity facility is located adjacent to Kajigahama Beach, a beautiful stretch of white sand and green pines. Here you can make Hime Hijiki Salt, a natural variety of salt which contains an abundance of calcium and other minerals. This salt is made by hand by adding hime hijiki (hijiki seaweed buds) to natural seawater from Shimo-kamagari and boiling it to concentrate, which draws out the innate flavors of the ingredients used and results in a salt that has a mild and slightly sweet flavor. You can put your salt in a Hime Hijiki Salt plastic product bag to take home as a souvenir.

There is more than meets the eye awaiting any Hiroshima-bound traveler. Kicking off in Hiroshima city, the Peace Memorial Park, Hiroshima Castle, and Shukkeien Garden offer a couple of days of exploring; however, the real beauty lies along the southern coast of the prefecture. There, a series of islands spreads across the Seto Inland Sea: from the mysterious sea-submerged Great Torii Gate at Miyajima Island to the first half of the islands that connect Honshu to Shikoku via six spectacular suspension bridges.
