    This venerable Japanese confectionery has over 180 years of history. Their famous Ote Manju buns were particularly loved by Ikeda, Lord of Bizen Domain, and stories say he made sure they were served at every tea ceremony he attended. These buns are made with carefully mixed sweet bean paste wrapped in amazake sweet sake flavored dough for a highly aromatic manju bun. They also serve crisp Monami, monaka wafers filled with moist coarse anko, and Tsubuzoroi bean sweets, made with high grade sugared adzuki beans.

    岡山の方におすすめのお土産を訊いたところ、大手饅頭とのことで、こちらで買い求めました。家に戻り、皆で食べましたが皮が薄く甘すぎないあんこが美味しく好評でした。

There are eight shops on the theme of affluent lifestyles in the complex such as everyday goods select shops, original cafes, restaurants where you can enjoy wood-kiln pizza, and denim specialty shops. There is a memorial room in the main building introducing the history of the drug store Hayashi Genjiro Shouten. The nearest station is Kurashiki Station.

    This long-established Japanese confectionery shop is located in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter of Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture and opened in 1877. It is the shop that created the famous Kurashiki sweet “Murasuzume,” which is made by taking a thin crepe and coating the browned side with coarse sweet red bean paste and wrapped in the shape of half moon. You can purchase Murasuzume made by expert bakers, and can even try your own hand at baking some. It takes about five minutes, and you can choose between regular and jumbo sizes. Visitors will take turns making them after applying.

    This hall is attached to Inbe Station in Inbe, Bizen City. Besides providing tourism information and selling goods, it exhibits and sells works by members of Bizen yaki tou yu kai (Bizen Ceramics Association), and holds workshops to experience making Bizen-yaki ware on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays (for a fee, reservation required). Every October, the “Bizen Pottery Festival” is held throughout the entire area.

    伊部駅に併設している建物で、備前のいろいろな窯元の作品があり、購入もできるようなので、最初に一通り見てから、お気に入りの窯元の所に行くのもよいかも。

    This indoor private market is about a five-minute walk from Okayama Station on Nishigawa-Ryokudokoen-suji Street. The whole first floor of the building is taken up by the market, and there are fresh produce and seafood shops, as well as cafes and restaurants. They also have regular events, which draw crowds of customers. It began in 1946 as Okayama Market, and was made to offer an alternative to the post-war black market where people could buy in safety. It currently not only serves as a food wholesale point, but also distributes the safe, secure taste of Okayama to private customers.

    This is a specialty goods shop and restaurant located on Prefectural Route 270 in Shuku, Soja City. The shop sells local special products and fresh vegetables picked in the morning. There is also a gallery that displays and sells crafts. The restaurant serves set meals with a choice of Kibiji okowa glutinous rice with special black soybean or red bean rice, udon noodles, soba and curry. In addition, there is also a cafe menu offering dishes such as Kofunzenzai red bean soup (reservation required) using special tofu.

    備中国分寺に行くために、駐車場に車を入れると、すぐ横にこの建物があります。中はレストランが中心ですが、おみやげ物も入手できます。

Their ShikOlive Medicinal Skin Cream printed with a photograph of Ushimado Olive Garden is a cream popular for its smooth feeling and is a good item to commemorate coming to the garden."

    階段で上った最上階の景色はすばらしい。ぐるっと背面まで見渡せます(山側は、日本一の太陽光パネルの奇観が。笑)。階段はつかれますけど、上る価値あり、でした。

    A select food shop located in a residential area a little ways off from the Bikan Historical Quarter in Hommachi, Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture. The shop operates out of a remodeled warehouse built in the Taisho period which once belonged to the Morita Shuzo sake brewery. The shop is crowded with carefully selected delicious things from around the country; Heisuiken always stocks over 1,000 different items. Focusing on traditional Japanese foods, the shop carries a wide array of delicacies, from cheeses and jams to seasonings and even foods from other countries.

    A 10-minute walk from JR Kagato Station. This is the directly operated sales shop of long-standing soy sauce brewery Takatori-Shoyu, who were founded in 1905. They sell carefully made well-known seasonings including soy sauce, dressings, and dipping sauces. Recommended is their Fushiichi-kiri soy sauce. It's made using the same traditional techniques and has a sweet and rich flavor with a smooth finish. At the front of the shop they sell their popular Soy Sauce Soft-serve Ice Cream, with cup servings of hard ice-cream available for take away. Sweets such as their Soy Sauce Candies are also popular.

    備前市にある醤油の蔵元だそうです。備前焼まつりに来た際に、こちらのしょうゆソフトクリームを食べました。おいしかったです。

Ebisu Manju, their signature ohban-yaki product, is simply made using only sweet bean paste inside. The store is not open in the summer, and sells products from the autumn to the spring.

    Future is a sales outlet for marine products located in Kojima Ekimae 3-chome in the city of Kurashiki. It sells fresh seafood caught in nearby fishing ports, such as Shimotsui, including the dried octopus that Shimotsui is famous for, demonstration sales of processed foods, such as roasted conger eel. Souvenirs are also on sale. The adjacent restaurant (reservations required for groups of ten or more) serves Takomeshi (rice with pieces of boiled octopus), using Shimotsui octopus.

    ツアーの昼食で立ち寄りました。団体さん用の店みたいです。牡蠣鍋とたこ飯御膳は鮮度はいいし美味しかった。席と席の間隔が狭くてビールの置き場に困りました。

    A 10-minute drive from the Bizen Interchange on the Sanyo Expressway. This pottery studio creates and sells Bizen-ware pottery and is located on a large plot of land surrounded by plum and cherry trees. Bizen-ware pottery is popular for its ease of use and wide variety of designs. In the first-floor gallery you'll find a variety of works on display and for sale including everything from reasonable everyday items such as mugs an tea cups to masterpieces made by Living National Treasures of Japan. You can also try throwing your own pieces with their pottery course. In the spring they hold a Plum Festival with performances including Taiko drumming and then later in the season you can enjoy the countless blooming cherry trees. You can also make reservations for Bizen curry and bento lunches.

    備前焼で有名な山麓窯を訪れました。 渋い感じの備前焼ですが、使ってみると心地よいですね。 2月頃には梅の花を隣接している敷地で見ることはできるようです!!

Inside the park with a promenade, there is a plaza where you can interact with animals, adventure playground, dog park, lavender garden and herb garden. In addition, there is also a workshop that manufactures and sells dairy products, ham and sweets, restaurants and a barbecue terrace.

    仲間(男女7人)でBBQセット頼みました。牛、豚、鶏、羊と野菜のセットです。見た目以上に結構なボリュームでした。ただ、ロースターがとろい。

    Okayama Oda-gun Yakagecho Yakage 3084
    This venerable Japanese confectioner is near Ibara Railways Yakage Station. It dates back over 180 years, and has been known for its Yubeshi treats made with locally grown yuzu citrus since the Edo period, and was an apparent favorite of Atsuhime, the wife of Tokugawa Iesada. In the eight generations since their founding, they have added to their Yubeshi, with seasonal flower-topped Irodori hana-senbei, Hanayuzu, yokan bean jelly, and so on. Each of them is made by hand, with care and skill, and offers a taste of the seasons.

    矢掛のメインストリートにある天保元年創業という老舗和菓子店。 柚子を丸ごと使った柚餅子が看板商品です。ただ、私はお勧めという小さな柚子に羊羹を詰めた方をいただきました。羊羹にゆずの香りが丸ごと浸みこんでこれも格調高い。とってもおいしいお菓子です。

    Located approximately a three-minute walk from the north exit of JR Kurashiki Station, it is one of the largest outlet malls in the Chugoku region. It is conveniently close to the Kurashiki Interchange. The open two-story building has about 120 shops including fashion, sundries and sports equipment stores. There are also stroller rentals, nursing rooms, diaper changing rooms and children's rooms, making it a shopping mall for the whole family to enjoy all day long.

    A grape farmers market located at the western foot of Mt. Kosugejyo. The market sells seasonal vegetables and grapes, a local Aono area specialty product. The market's selection of grapes exceeds 20 varieties, including Delaware and giant Kyoho. The market's cafe serves handmade grape juice and soft serve ice cream. The adjoining papercut art museum displays pieces by papercut artist Makoto Yozan. Each year in April, the market holds the Budo Roman Daikagura, a Noh Kagura dance-based performance. The market is also used as a center for local events such as marathons and mountain biking competitions.

    This is a sundry goods shop located on the first floor of the main building of the Hayashi Genjuro Shoten, a complex in a repaired and refurbished wooden Western-style building of the early Showa period, about 15 minutes on foot from Kurashiki Station. It is the first whole-sale store of the Kurashiki-based miscellaneous goods maker Kurashiki Design Planning Office. The shop offers about 2,000 original handicraft items carefully handmade by artists, making full use of the characteristics of the material such as paper, cloth, wood and glass. In the connected gallery space, workshops and exhibitions with the theme of monozukuri (manufacturing) are also held.

Overshadowed by Hiroshima to the west and the Kansai region to the east, Okayama is an easy spot to miss but a nature-rich gem where the Seto Inland Sea laps at its toes and peach and grape farms complete its interior. One of Japan's Three Great Gardens, Koraku-en in Okayama city is well worth a visit before progressing to Kurashiki, where preserved wooden Edo buildings line the picturesque canal.
