    This is a shopping complex opened in 2012 in the restored main building, house, annex, storehouse and courtyard of the drug store Hayashi Genjiro Shouten built in the early Showa period. There are eight shops on the theme of affluent lifestyles in the complex such as everyday goods select shops, original cafes, restaurants where you can enjoy wood-kiln pizza, and denim specialty shops. There is a memorial room in the main building introducing the history of the drug store Hayashi Genjiro Shouten. The nearest station is Kurashiki Station.

    セレクトショップとカフェ、林源十郎のヒストリーコーナー等、それぞれオーナーが異なるお店が入っているようです。 個人的にはナンシー関の消しゴムはんこを使った雑貨に心を奪われましたが、結局使えるものだけ購入してきました。 二階のグリーンが置いてある器のお店は、店主不在のため販売不可と張り紙してあったりと、自由な感じですね。 三階は展望コーナーとカフェ。カフェタイムでしたが空いていました。

    Located approximately a three-minute walk from the north exit of JR Kurashiki Station, it is one of the largest outlet malls in the Chugoku region. It is conveniently close to the Kurashiki Interchange. The open two-story building has about 120 shops including fashion, sundries and sports equipment stores. There are also stroller rentals, nursing rooms, diaper changing rooms and children's rooms, making it a shopping mall for the whole family to enjoy all day long.

    This cultural facility complex is located in Chuo 1 Chome, Kurashiki City. It has an Italian restaurant utilizing seafood from the Seto Inland Sea, a fruit parlor offering a menu using fruits from the prefecture, and a salon and gallery that can be used for exhibitions and workshops in a newly built Kurashiki machiya (traditional wooden townhouse). There is also an adjoining bamboo forest walking garden and outdoor event space that is lit up after sunset.

Overshadowed by Hiroshima to the west and the Kansai region to the east, Okayama is an easy spot to miss but a nature-rich gem where the Seto Inland Sea laps at its toes and peach and grape farms complete its interior. One of Japan’s Three Great Gardens, Koraku-en in Okayama city is well worth a visit before progressing to Kurashiki, where preserved wooden Edo buildings line the picturesque canal.
