    A Western confectionary located a 14 minute walk from Kakunodate Station. The shop’s cute exterior matches well with the townscape of Kakunodate, known as “little Kyoto.” The second floor is a restaurant; from the terrace seating area, you can enjoy café-style drinks and light meals together with a sweeping view of the Hinokinai River, famous for its avenue of cherry trees. The most popular item on the restaurant menu is the fluffy and rich omelet rice, made with flavorful Hinai-jidori chicken eggs. The Saimyoji Monc Blanc set, made with Saimyoji-guri chestnuts soaked in syrup, is popular among women customers for its reserved, delicate sweetness.

    Kakunodate Satoku Garden stands along Bukeyashiki-dori Street, an area also dubbed the “little Kyoto of Michinoku.” This souvenir shop sells traditional Akita crafts and specialty products. Kakunodate is renowned for its cherry tree blossoms, and has even been selected as one of the 100 best places for cherry blossom viewing in Japan. Accordingly, many of this shop’s products are cherry blossom-themed, and the handkerchiefs dyed with a cherry blossom petal pattern are particularly popular with tourists. Other products on offer include kaba-zaiku cherry bark work goods, mage-wappa circular bento boxes, and cherry blossom-scented aroma candles.

    This shop selling special local Akita products is in the 1st basement floor of Akita Atorion Building, about five minutes’ walk from Akita Station’s West Exit. This shop directly operated by the Akita Prefectural Promotion Group offers over 4,000 different Akita goods, including kiritampo (mashed rice paste on a stick), local sake and Akita Inu goods.

    平日だったので買い物はしやすかった。品物はまぁ揃っていたが、稲庭うどん色々なお店のものがもう少しあった方が選ぶのに楽しいかも。

An old Japanese restaurant in Senshu Park was renovated and turned into this complex facility where visitors can learn about the Akita culture. There is a tea house which has made use of the small kitchen, and a sake bar which stocks all the best known sake. Visitors can also catch some performances by maiko from Akita at the Akita Maiko Theater, which is the main place for maiko activity in Akita.

    With a focus on kabazaiku, or cherry bark crafts, the Kakunodate Kabazaiku Center stocks a wide range of woodwork, folk crafts and specialty products from Akita. The interior of the shop decked out in natural wood is also an impressive sight in itself. Visitors can enjoy browsing from a wide selection of products from traditional handicrafts to everyday items. Next to the Kakunodate Kabazaiku Center is the Tomachi Town Museum, Tatetsuya, admission free of charge. The Kakunodate Kabazaiku Center is 10 minutes on foot from JR Kakunodate Station.

    角館のほぼ中央にある郵便局手前にありますが、中町通りの看板は「たてつ」、庭の方からは「外町資料館たてつ」で、明治33年に建てられたそうで、たてつ家(田鉄家)の先祖が実際に使用していた趣味や生活用品などを無料公開していました。着物の着せ替えもあり坊さんが2・3人居て観光かと思いきや、韓国人がかつらと着物を着て騒いでいました。何処へ行っても韓国、中国は多くて煩いですね。

They have a wide variety of their flagship product karinto fried treats with different shapes, flavors, and textures. They also have other sweets like Kakunodate's famous morokoshi (Indian millet), kinako-bo (roasted soy flour sticks), senbei crackers, manju and yokan.

    名物は、落ち葉かりんとう。種類がいくつかあって、お勧めはそれらを詰め合わせたバラエティの袋。ザラメがまぶしてあるのに、ピリ辛味が仕込ませてあったり、色々楽しめます。

    This is a general purpose facility next to Yokote City Office in Chuo Town, Yokote City. There are a local specialty shop and concert hall inside. They have displays on Yokote traditional kamakura igloo making, and in the kamakura room there's a real Yokote snow-made kamakura igloo on display year-round.

    This museum is very small, but a great opportunity to experience the Kamakura if you are not in the season. The people at the reception door was very friendly.

    The venerable confectionery Eitaro was founded in 1883, and is known for its specialty Akita Meika Sanazura, flavored with the mellow Sanazura (wild mountain grapes) found in Akita. Their sweets Sanazura Jelly and Sanazura Kuzu yokan using mountain grapes are also popular. They also have a wide variety of baked goods like Akita Roll cakes and Akita Marina, as well as must-try seasonal sweets.

    小腹を満たすためにいちご大福を購入いたしました。イチゴの酸味と、あんこの甘味の相性がよくて美味しく頂けました。和菓子がメインに取り扱っており、お土産になりそうなアイテムもございました。

The five restaurants using select local ingredients are not to be missed! The sushi shop Ichiba no Sushiya-san, with their Akita grown Sasanishiki rice and toppings straight form the market is particularly popular. There is also a liquor store, Sake no Eiyu, offering local Akita sakes by the bottle and sold by volume.

    海鮮北前船でランチを食べてみましたが、そこそこの値段の割には期待を下回りました。普通のスーパーみたいな市場でした。

    This is a western sweets shop in Hirasawa, Nikaho City, Akita Prefecture, famed for its Jumbo Cream Puffs loaded with custard cream. The shop showcase is lined with brilliantly colored cakes, and they're happy to make you a special order character cake from your own photo, with two days advance notice. In addition to pastries, they sell a wide selection of handmade breads. It's also conveniently located in front of Nikaho Station.

    シュークリームが有名ですが、調理パンや菓子パンが目当てでよく来店してます。イートインスペースもありますが、持ち帰ったパンをオーブントースターで軽く温めるとバターの香りがして美味しく、良い材料を使っていると思います。カレーパンが一番好きです。

    Morokoshian specializes in the traditional sweet Morokoshi, made from shaped adzuki bean flour, and is the originator of the uncooked Namamorokoshi version. Founded in 1957, it's long been loved as the premier purveyor of Little Kyoto Kakunodate's famed Namamorokoshi sweets. The Bukeyashiki shop is on Bukeyashiki-dori Street near JR Kakunodate Station. They have a wide selection of morokoshi goods and seasonal items as well.

Products include the Kamakura, a new, up-and-coming Yokote confection made with yokan jelly mixed with condensed milk wrapped around a tasty egg yolk-based filling; and the Tomato Daifuku, a three-layer daifuku cake consisting of tomato jam, a filling made with tomato juice, and chewy mochi rice cake. The shop also makes and sells seasonal and limited-time items such as the steamed chestnut yokan jelly.

    ケーキや和菓子販売の他に店内で食べれるかき氷がお勧めです。 氷や地元産の果物にこだわっており、大分涼しくなってきましたが、ぶどうと栗が今はいただけるようです。(写真はすもも)

    周りは農園が多く有り、じゅんさいやリンゴの特産品に加え、野菜や果物を中心に産直市で販売されていました。じゅんさいは袋以外に大きいものから小さいものまでビン詰が有りましたが、その高さに驚きました。

    A shop specializing in nanbu senbei rice crackers located along Prefectural Route 66 in Nakahanawa, Hanawa, Kazuno City, who first opened in 1926. They make and sell rice crackers with the same flavor since their founding, made individually one by one using a stone oven and mold. Along with nanbu senbei crackers in a variety of flavors including sesame, peanut, and butter, they also sell other products including a deep fried Karinko Senbei.

    鹿角は元は南部藩だったところ。なので、南部せんべいといっても違和感はないでしょう。 店内にはたくさんの種類の南部せんべい。揚げせんべいは、甘がらいたれをつけて揚げた珍しいタイプ。おいしさにもう一つアクセントが付いているような気がしました。

The shop sells ""black eggs,"" a Goshogake Onsen specialty product created due to a chemical reaction which occurs when eggs are boiled in the area's sulfurous hot spring waters. The shop also carries soaps and packs made using mud from the inn's mud bath, an original beer commemorating the inn's 100th anniversary, and local specialty products."

    箱蒸風呂、泥風呂、火山風呂など種類が多くあり楽しめます。おすすめは箱蒸風呂です!あたまが出ている分サウナよりものぼせづらく、体の芯まで温まる感じがしました。 泥風呂が想像よりも泥が少なく残念でしたが、肌がすべすべになったので大満足です。
