    From a sightseeing cruise boat, take in the cherry trees blooming on the Kaizu Osaki Peninsula, counted as one of the beautiful Eight Views of Lake Biwa and also selected for inclusion in the Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots list. Some 800 magnificent Yoshino cherries, spanning everything from 70-year-old trees to saplings representing the next generation, grow along a four-kilometer-long stretch of Lake Biwa's shore, forming a veritable cherry tree tunnel. This cruise makes it possible to fully experience the area's cherry blossoms; onboard a boat, you can enjoy the beauty of the avenue of cherries unaffected by the huge crowds that flock to the site on land, and you can also disembark and walk along a cherry tree arcade for 30 minutes. Advance reservation required.

    竹生島の往復に利用しました。 赤い「直正」丸？に乗船、大河ドラマはあまり見ないので思い入れはありませんが、快適なクルーズで、お天気が良かったので帰りは二階のベンチで、離れて行く竹生島を眺めました。 彦根港には無料駐車場があります。

The facility has a training room with fireplace and cooking facilities, bungalows, campground, barbecue ground, and plaza with playground. Classes such as making crafts, brick oven pizzas, ice cream, and butter are held in the facility’s activity hut.

    永源寺ダムを超えてしばらく池田牧場の看板がある所を山手に上がって行くとあるキャンプ場です。木立の中のキャンプ場でバーベキュー広場やバンガロー、遊具も揃っています。少し奥に車で走ると道の駅があるのでそちらで地元食材も買えますし、清流が癒されます。

    A farm situated along National Route 421 in Aono-cho, Higashiomi City. Here visitors can enjoy picking greenhouse-cultivated Akihime strawberries from January to May. The strawberries are grown approximately one meter off the ground, reducing the need to bend over to pick the berries. The nearby farm fresh store sells agricultural products and foods.

    A tourist fruit farm located in Higashiomi City, Shiga Prefecture. The farm primarily grows strawberries, and from April to mid-May, visitors can enjoy all-you-can-eat strawberry picking in the farm's greenhouses. All-you-can-eat strawberry picking is reservation-only and lasts 30 minutes. The strawberry varieties the farm grows include Akihime, Beni Hoppe, and Kaorino. In addition to locals, visitors from far and wide come here seeking the farm's generally large and highly sweet strawberries. The farm also has a wholesale shop selling strawberries as well as vegetables, flowers, and other fruits which can be purchased to take home as souvenirs.

    This tourist fruit farm is located in Higashiomi City, Shiga Prefecture. The farm grows Japanese pears, grapes, and a variety of other fruits on its 8,000 square meter grounds, and visitors can enjoy all-you-can-eat fruit. The farm's Japanese pears, pollinated by honeybees and grown with organic fertilizer, are exceptionally sweet and juicy. Grape varieties grown by the farm include Himrod and Beni Izu. In addition to Japanese pear-only and grape-only all-you-can-eat plans, the farm offers a Japanese pear and grape all-you-can-eat plan, giving visitors the chance to savor the flavors of autumn to their heart's content. The farm also offers fresh-picked Japanese pear compote making and beeswax candle making activities.

Visitors to Shiga prefecture are almost always hopping east across the prefectural border from Kyoto, and they are almost certainly Lake Biwa-bound. Covering an area of 670 square kilometers, Lake Biwa makes up the bulk of Shiga prefecture, with beautiful lakeside paths that offer myriad walking and cycling opportunities, connecting a string of museums, shrines, and picturesque views that finally lead you to Hikone Castle on the eastern side of the lake.
