    Prism Fukui—the shopping center of JR Fukui Station—is a shopping center that features places to eat or drink, drug stores, relaxation centers and even Fukui souvenirs. There are several stores selling Echizen crab or seafood products, famous candy, and even local spirits. It also features good access to highway buses and Echizen Railway.

    Shops, mostly selling Fukui souvenir snacks/food, a good cafe (Colorado), and some restaurants, and a supermarket, inside Fukui station. Theres a small shop that sells Fukui and Japanese style...

    Offering products that range from food to clothing and even accessories, Seibu Fukui features a spacious interior with lots of brand stores in both the Main Building (B1F-8F) and the Annex (B1F-6F). With lots of events, it keeps you refreshed while shopping. The cafes have items that accept cell phone coupons, so make sure to check in advance.

    東京に住んでいた時は西武デパートによく買い物をしたもの、ここに有るんだと懐かしく感じてしまいました。バブルのころは、贈り物の紙袋は西武でなければという時代も有りました。内部そのものは普通のどこにでもあるような代わり映えのしないデパートです。

    Fukui Station West Exit was redeveloped into Happiring, a shopping mall complete with tourist information center, Fukui Products Museum, Fukui City Natural History Museum, and multi-purpose rooms. It also has a drop-in care center for kids from six-month olds to third grade elementary school kids, so you can shop with peace of mind. There are many events held as well. Approximately a minute on foot from JR Fukui Station.

    Founded over 200 years ago, Tentatu is famous for its Echizen-style salt sea urchin, powder sea urchin and dried sea urchin. In the Edo period, Tentatu’s Echizen sea urchin was long beloved as a delicacy, and it was used a gift to various local masters in the imperial court or shogunate as preserved rations for military use. It keeps for days at room temperature.

    This local specialty products store carries an abundance of Fukui's most famous goods, including Kitamaebune no Kawamoto's kombu (kelp) products, and homemade yakisaba (grilled mackerel) sushi. A popular destination, the store also has a space where you can watch how Fukui delicacies are made and even try making some yourself. Of particular note, this is the only place you can watch a live demonstration of the process involved in making tesuki oboro kombu (handmade shredded kelp), a rare traditional technique dating back 400 years.

    京王百貨店新宿店7階で開催中された『福井県 越前・若狭の物産と観光展u202c』にて購入した「えがわ」の『水羊かん』は、凛と冷えたはかない口当たりと黒糖の風味は夏にはもってこいだが、冬の室内で炬燵の中で味わうのもまた一興でした。サイズも二種あって買い求めやすく、皆複数個買って帰っていました。

Compared to western candles these candles are marked by their thicker wick and larger flames. These candles are highly regarded and are used by many temples including Eiheiji Temple. They offer simple white candles as well as a variety of multicolored artistically decorated candles in reds, blues, golds, and other colors. They also offer gentle aromatic candles.

    A Japanese confectioner located within the Prism Fukui shopping center attached to Fukui Station. One of their popular sweets is their Habutae-Chestnut, a twist on the Fukui specialty, Habutaemochi rice dumplings. They mix sweet boiled crushed chestnuts into the soft dough of the Habutaemochi and then gently sandwich it with choux pastry. It's a highly regarded as a pastry that blends Japanese and western techniques and has won the Prime Minister's Award at the National Confectionery Exposition.

    羽二重くるみが美味しいとの口コミを読み、これを目当てに訪れました。遅い時間だと売り切れるとの情報があったので、早めの時間に行き、無事購入できました。単品1個でも110円で購入できるので、試しに1個だけ買って味をみてみるのも良いかと思います。賞味期限は5日間です。

    A long-standing Japanese confectioner that's been open since the Meiji period. Their specialty is Habutaemochi rice dumplings made with local Fukui prefecture rice. Their treats have been highly regarded at the National Confectionery Exposition and have won multiple prizes. Along with their standard mochi another popular creation is their Arranged Habutaemochi with fills the middle with red bean paste, matcha green tea flavored paste, strawberry, and more. They also offer it sandwiched together with red bean paste between dorayaki pancakes. Here at the main store they don't just sell Habutaemochi but also a variety of seasonal sweets including red-bean mochi, potato yokan jelly, and ayu-mochi decorated to look like a sweetfish.

    羽二重餅がメインの和菓子屋さんです。洋菓子もあり、どれもお手頃価格なので普段使いはもちろん、ちょっとしたお土産にもなりそうです。羽二重ちょこ包み(700円)を購入しましたが、やわらかい羽二重餅の中に生チョコのようなクリームが入っていて美味しかったです。

They hold special theme-based exhibitions every month. These exhibitions also include a wide variety of genres including plant-based dyes and glasswork. Artist led craft workshops are also held on occasion.

    A long-standing Japanese confectioner that's been open for over 100 years. It's claimed to be the birthplace of Fukui's famous Habutaemochi rice dumpling. This famous shop, beloved to the locals, has also made an appearance in the famous manga, Chihayafuru. Here at the main store they also sell other treats including Habutaemochi filled Monaka wafer cakes and Dorayaki, pancaked stuffed with red bean paste. During the summer they also sell Japanese-style shaved ice with Habutaemochi stuck in it. While in the winter they sell the special Ichimai Nagashi Mizuyokan red bean jelly, which in Fukui is synonymous with the season.

    A produce market operated by JA Echizen Nyu. It boasts the largest shop floor of such produce markets in Fukui Prefecture and sells a wide selection of local Nyu ingredients. Much of the shop floor is taken up by fresh produce that was just harvested the same day. They also sell eggs, fresh flowers, and seafood fresh caught in Echizen and Koshino harbors. You can purchase side dishes made from these ingredients and of course Fukui grown Koshihikari rice as Fukui is known for its clean water. The attached Restaurant Shunsai serves up local flavors.
