    羽二重(求肥)餅がこの地域の特産で、メインのお土産。 羽二重餅のいろんな味付け・変化を楽しめる。餅のいくつかは試食出来るので間違いない。甘さが苦手の人には辛いお菓子も揃っている。 ここを出ると滋賀県琵琶湖東南部のドライブインまで２時間ノンストップで走ることが多い。

    A confectioner located along Shichiken-dori Street in Motomachi, Ono City. This long-standing shop was founded over 100 years ago and is known for their famous Imo-Kintsuba treat. It's only sold for a limited time starting every year in September and many people come even from other prefectures in search of the sweet flavor of local Ono grown sweet potatoes.

    いもきんつばを焼いているのが外からも見えます。 何と言っても、良い香りにそそられます！ 焼きたてを買えるので、店内でアツアツのうちにいただきました。 とっても美味しかったです！

    Dansuke is a long-established gomadofu (crushed sesame seeds boiled in water and chilled like tofu) maker, founded in 1888, which is located on National Route 364 in Aratani, Eiheiji Town, Yoshida County. Packs of Nama Gomadofu (raw gomadofu, which is not reheated after packaged) can be purchased at the firm’s direct-outlet store. The café adjacent to the workshop where the gomadofu is made and stored serves a variety of confectionery products and beverages, including raw gomadofu and brown sugar zenzai (red bean soup) made with gomadofu, etc.

    A gift shop and restaurant where you can enjoy creative tofu dishes, Sachiya is situated on a small hill, offering you a wide view of nature and the mountains surrounding Eiheiji Temple while you enjoy your meal. They offer healthy meals, with morning-squeezed soy milk, freshly-made tofu, sesame tofu, and in-season vegetables. The restaurant’s tofu, sides, and stock are available for purchase at the shop.

    店内は新しく、綺麗です。 豆腐づくしの5000円のコースを頂きました。 豆腐を色々な形で楽しませてくれようとする気持ちは伝わるのですが、あともうちょっとで美味しくなるだろう、残念な結果に終わっているお品も…。 お子様プレートも頼みましたが、こども向けのはずなのにドレッシングがかなり生姜が効いて、見た目も地味な色合いで少し残念。 全体的に値段と内容のバランスが取れていないと感じました。

    Opened in 2013, this is a popular bakery that always offers 50-60 types of bread and pastries, changing its wares according to the season. There is a place where you can eat in—it’s nice to be able to eat the bread you’ve bought straight away. The cream bun generously filled with home-made custard is recommended.

    七間通りにある地元人気のパン屋さんです。イートインスペースもあります。食べ歩きクーポンでクリームパンをいただきました。

Here you can find well known sake made by Kokuryu Sake Brewery who own the attached storeroom and shop including Kokuryu (Black Dragon) Sake and Kuzuryu (Nine-headed Dragon) Sake. They also offer special seasonal limited sakes.

    永平寺の帰りにふと福井で日本酒をお土産に買って帰りたい思い近くを検索したらあの黒龍で有名な蔵元の石田屋さんがすぐ近くに。お店の雰囲気もバッチリ。黒龍大吟醸の龍720ml 4,400円と大吟醸720ml 2,750円、300ml 1,100円を購入。お店の方もあまりお酒に詳しくない自分に丁寧に案内してくれました。おうち帰ったらゆっくり飲みたいと思います。楽しみです。 有難うございました。

    A confectioner and cafe inside the Yume Ole Katsuyama Textile Factory Memorial Hall located along Prefectural Route 17 in Showa-machi 1-Chome, Katsuyama City. They sell confections including additive-free roll cakes, custard puddings, cream puffs, and baked donuts made with fresh local Okuetsu eggs and milk. In the cafe area there are also garden seats looking out at the fields.

    ドーム型のケーキや恐竜のお菓子なんかがあって可愛いです。古い機業場の中にあり落ち着いた雰囲気の中でお茶を楽しめます。

    A Japanese-style confection located along Honmachi-dori Street in Honmachi 2-Chome, Katsuyama City. This long-standing shop first opened during the Meiji Period and produces the famous Kurumiyaukan jelly made with the locally grown specialty walnuts. Since they were first created in 1913 these treats have been made using the same techniques, maintaining the same flavor, for over 100 years without using any preservatives. Also popular is their walnut monaka treat.

    店内入って、何の商品も置いてないため、『今日は商品ないんですか？』とこちらから聞く始末。すると、『なにが？』と買いに来た客に対し失礼極まりない返答。それでもこちらが敬語で丁寧に『でっちようかんありますか?』と伺ったところ、『でっちようかんしかない。ほかのはない。○○商品もない』と返答。。。 やる気無いなら店辞めて欲しい。 腹が立つ!

    The shop specializing in sweets made with rice is located on the Kyoryu Kaido in Yoshino-cho, Ono City. It sells kakimochi, arare, and other rice crackers made with the unique technique of steaming glutinous rice, pounding it into rice cake, and cooking it in the original direct-fired furnace. Their Yumenosuke Dango dumplings are made exclusively with locally-grown Koshihikari rice and are roasted only after an order is received. The shop also has a cafe space where customers can enjoy eating their sweets.

    A tourist facility in Motomachi, Ono City. The Ono-han Onoya was a trading shop for the Ono Domain that opened during late Edo period and has been registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan. It consists of four buildings, the Yuirakuza general goods store, Nikaigura two level storage building, Hiragura storage building, and the Yokan western building. They sell local agricultural goods and local specialties, hold hands-on classes including how to make handicrafts, and have a multipurpose hall available for rent. In the Yokan western building you'll find the Haikara-chaya teahouse, which offers a menu of dishes made using local ingredients.

    A miso and soy sauce brewery located along Shichiken-dori Street in Motomachi, Ono City. They use the same traditional manufacturing techniques involving natural brewing process using carefully selected ingredients and Ono's natural water sources before allowing it to mature in a wooden barrel. This results in a flavor that's been unchanged for nearly 90 years. From October to June they sell a special Fukukitaru miso made from 100% local Fukui soybeans and koshihikari rice.

They have an organic restaurant serving meals made with Jersey beef and highland vegetables and a lodge available for rent that can accommodate up to 28 guests. They offer different hands-on courses including making ice-cream with freshly milked milk, butter churning, and barbeque (all of which require prior reservation) and the venue can be used for a highland themed wedding.

    永平寺で参拝前に連絡をしておき、参拝した後に立ち寄りました。部屋に案内されて「永平寺そば」をいただきました。「永平寺そば」は「やまかけそば」と「山菜そば」の蕎麦にゴマ豆腐、味噌、デザートも付いています。シンプルな料理ですが、永平寺の雰囲気にふさわしいものです。思わず背筋が伸びるような感じになっていただきました。穏やかな感じの蕎麦でした。ありがたい気持ちになっていただきました。
