A bed and breakfast located west along National Route 250 traveling from Akamatsunohana. There's also a ferryboat service. The establishment serves home-cultivated oysters that are rich taste, savory, have strong umami taste. From a room looking out over the Seto Inland Sea, you can enjoy an oyster course meal which includes seven different dishes. The establishment offers all-you-can-eat charcoal grilled oysters on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays; both this and the oyster course meal require an advance reservation by phone. The establishment also allows customers to bring their own rice and vegetables. The establishment has six rooms and can accommodate up to 30.

"This restaurant adjacent to the Ibonoito Museum Somen no Sato is located along Prefectural Route 724 in the Okumura area of Kamioka-cho, Tatsuno City. In addition to serving somen noodles and soup as single dishes, meals and sets, this restaurant also serves a kind of hand-stretched udon called ""Takaraban Udon"" as well as Chinese-style noodles made using Ibonoito's special manufacturing methods."

Located in Laventer Park Taka, one of the largest lavender gardens in western Japan, the restaurant's specialty is egg over rice with free refills of both rice and eggs, using Koshihikari rice produced in Taka Town and Banshu local eggs. This restaurant is located in Tatsuno Park. The restaurant operates out of an old soy sauce storehouse built in the Taisho period which was moved to this location. The restaurant serves dishes made with seasonal edible wild plants and Tatsuno's famous Ibonoito Somen noodles. Here you can enjoy a wild plant kaiseki course meal (for groups of two and larger) and tempura set meal made with Sanshin, the highest-class variety of Ibonoito Somen noodles. There's also an extravagant seasonal Japanese yam meal.

This restaurant with an elegant exterior is located near to the front gate of Ako Castle. Guests can enjoy fresh conger eel caught in the Seto Inland Sea. They are especially proud of their famous anaju, an exquisite dish featuring a choice conger eel fragrantly grilled and coated with a secret sauce. Many customers are shocked by the fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth softness of the thick eel filets, which are served over rice in a lacquerware box. The sauce, which was created to perfectly match the choice conger eel, is a traditional recipe made by stewing dark soy sauce, tamari soy sauce, sake, and sugar. Also popular is their anago no tempuradon, an extravagant dish featuring a whole battered and deep-fried conger eel served on a bowl of rice. Yet another is their Anago-zukushi Gozen, a set meal featuring three different conger eel dishes.

Located in Kokoen, a Japanese garden in the western part of Himeji Castle, the restaurant offers a beautiful view of the garden while enjoying a meal. The Irodori Kassuiken Kanbei bento is available in limited quantities, and desserts are also available.

We’re so happy we visited these gorgeous gardens and had a lovely meal at this restaurant. A tip is to arrive right at opening so you can choose the best seat, which is staring into the lovely...

Hyogo Areas

around-area-map

Hyogo prefecture stretches from the north coast to the south coast on the western end of the popular Kansai region, encompassing verdant mountains, urban beaches, and fantastic historical sights. The prefecture’s main attractions lie along the south coast at Kobe, the prefectural capital, a pretty harbor city best known for its production of the renowned Kobe beef, and Himeji, the home of Himeji Castle, one of the country’s most beautifully preserved feudal castles, perched magically atop a hill.
