    Saitama Kawagoe-shi Saiwaicho 1-6
    The Ichibangai location of this confectioner has a tea house which offers a popular food menu starring Imo-Okowa (sweet potato and rice). Their popular Imo-Koi manjuu bun, a mixture of sweet potato and whole red beans wrapped in a dough made with mochi rice and yams, offers a nostalgic flavor and has been chosen as one of Sai-no-Kuni's Authorized Superior Brand Goods. Their Imo-Pote cakes and Imo-Okowa make for great souvenirs.

    A long-standing confectionery shop known for their potato sweets that first opened in 1886. It was the stage for the drama “Naite Tamaruka” which aired in 1965 and starred actor Atsumi Kiyoshi. They normally have around ten different treats available including their Imoju Senbei, thinly sliced high quality sweet potato brushed with fresh ginger flavored molasses one by one and then baked, their Imoju Matsuba candied sweet potato fries, and Imoju-Tou sliced candied sweet potato. The shop has been designated as one of the Kawagoe City Landscape's Important Buildings.

    A long-standing Japanese confectioner first founded in 1783. They served the Kawagoe domain for generations before, in 1847, receiving the Kameya Daijo Fujiwara Kaei professional certification from the Kyoto Imperial Palace. The treats they make, inheriting the flavor and techniques passed down from the Edo period, have earned them much admiration. Their signature product Kame-no- Monaka is a beloved and elegant bite-sized wafer cake shaped like a turtle shell, and there are also seasonal limited products with the flavor of cherry blossoms and matcha green tea.

    A senbei cracker store that first opened in 1901. Their crackers are hand-made using traditional techniques from carefully selected rice from the Nigohan region. The rice is ground inhouse before being steamed, grilled, and seasoned resulting in their beloved original flavor. Their senbei stamped with the Mark of Authenticity labels them as being made with high quality ingredients and bearing traditional flavor and makes for great souvenirs.

    This yokan (red bean jelly) shop is located along National Route 209 in Ogano, Ogano Town, Chichibu County. Their leading product is their “Kodai Chichibu neri yokan.” Ever since the second-generation shop owner produced the recipe for it in Nihonbashi in 1803, they have continued to preserve its unchanged flavor for over 200 years. They sell three kinds: “honneri (kidney bean paste),” “inaka (adzuki bean paste) ” and “yuzu citrus (kidney bean paste).”

Based on the concept “Cherish the natural features of Chichibu,” they make sweets that incorporates local produce. They sell the “colorful potato series” which is made of Japanese-style sweet potato with Sayama tea and maple syrup from Chichibu, and “Molt cake” which is a castella using egg yolks and “Ichiro’s Molt”, a whiskey distilled in Chichibu.

    シャインマスカットの大福がありました。 季節ごとに違うものがある様で 今の時期だけだそうです。 白あんにシャインマスカットがよく合いました。 家に持ち帰り食べたのですが、形が崩れる事もなく美味しいく、頂けました。 西武秩父駅にも売ってました。

A long-established store that has been making tofu for four generations since the early Showa period, Fujiya produces and directly sells tofu using carefully selected soybeans from all over Japan and bittern produced on Izu Oshima Island. Fujiya also sells desserts such as no-bake cheesecake and pudding made using tofu, and features the Fujiya Tofu Research Institute, where you can find tofu in combinations of different ingredients each month.

    越生こだわりとうふ 「藤屋」、お豆腐屋さんですが、レアチーズケーキがお勧めです。食感が良く、また甘すぎず、価格はやや高めですが、一度食べてみる価値はあると思います。その他お豆腐も多彩にあります。
