    This is a zoo and amusement park in Suka, Miyashiro Town, Minami-Saitama County. There are 120 species and 1,200 animals kept at the zoo including white tigers and brown bears, and there are roller coasters and rides suitable for children in the amusement park. Also there are a number of restaurants and stores. There is also a large outdoor pool facility called the “Tobu Super Pool” within the grounds.

    Japan’s first National Park. It was created as part of the centennial celebration of the Meiji Restoration. Roughly three million square meters in size—enough to fit about sixty-five Tokyo Domes—the park includes Japan’s largest air trampoline, a playground, athletic equipment, a barbeque spot, an area for viewing all kinds of plant life, from cherry trees to camellia and plum trees. There is also a cycling course and other facilities. You can enjoy them all regardless of age all day in the park.

    Saitama Super Arena is used as the site for many concerts and sporting events. Keyaki Hiroba, located adjacent to the arena and stadium, contains a number of cafes, taverns, and other eating and drinking establishments. The presence of a convenience store and a drugstore make the site especially convenient. Inside the arena is a temporary daycare center, so that parents can enjoy concerts and events without worrying about their children.

Visitors to the stadium can enjoy more than 1,000 kinds of food at shops both inside and outside the stadium and in the Owner’s Restaurant (restricted to season ticket holders, etc.).

    Hitsujiyama Park is a green land park spread on a hilltop with a panoramic view of Chichibu City, and is known as a flower viewing place for the beautiful cherry blossoms, iris and moss phlox. In the park, moss phlox with more than some 400,000 plants from nine varieties are cultivated over about 17,600 square meters, and red, pink and white moss phlox flowers cover the whole area in spring like a patchwork of flowers. There are a range of facilities such as Fureai bokujo (ranch) where you can pat sheep, a museum for Mt. Buko which is a symbol of Chichibu and an athletics area. Anyone can enjoy the whole day there regardless of their age.

    Opened in 1997, the Saitama Museum of Rivers teaches visitors through a variety of workshops about the Arakawa River, Saitama’s most prominent waterway, as well as the relationship between rivers and people’s lives. Its Arakawa Wakuaku Land facility is open from the Spring Equinox until the mid-November. This extremely popular “water athletics” park lets visitors learn about the scientific properties of water, flood control, and water use first hand through various activities.

At its center is the Gongendo Reservoir, which hosted the flatwater kayaking competition during the 59th National Sports Festival. It consists of four zones in total, including green spaces and multipurpose areas. Gongendo Tsutsumi is on the grounds, known as one of the best flower viewing spots in the Kanto region. Throngs of tourists visit, especially when the cherry trees are in bloom. The Satte Cherry Blossom Festival is held every year at this time.

The display is designed to depict 200 kilometers of the Arakawa River, from upstream downwards to the river mouth. A nationally protected species, the Tokyo bitterling, and the prefectural fish, a stickleback species, Pungitius, the carnivorous water plant, the waterwheel plant are nurtured and displayed.

    This is a history park just a 15-minute walk from the Mizuhodai Station on the Tobutojo Line. This park was created to preserve and replicate the shell mounds, kaizuka, and villages from the Jomon Period discovered at this site. Discovered in 1917, and deemed of “good quality and of great scientific value,” this site was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1969. One can visit the exhibit introducing the lifestyle of the people at that time, and see the excavated earthenware, animal bones and learn about the pit dwellings replicated outdoors.

    Oh my goodness, this is a hidden gem. The gentleman showing us around was amazing. He was able to take us back in time so we could experience this amazing park. As a history buff I was amazed!

    Located among gentle hills, this largest zoo in the prefecture is home to over 200 popular animal species (1,600 total animals), including koalas, lesser pandas, and capybaras. There are lots of activities to try too, like riding ponies, petting monkeys and marmosets, and milking animals. You can watch the cute capybaras play in a rock bath during winter.

    This historical museum is in Yorii Town, Osato County, Saitama Prefecture. It serves as both a guidance center for the Hachigata Castle ruins and an activity center to educate visitors about local culture and history. There is an exhibition room dedicated to Hachigata Castle's history and construction, and there are special exhibition rooms on the themes of spring and autumn. The lecture hall can also be used for meetings and club activities except commercial purposes.
