    This long-established sweet shop located near JR Onuma Park Station was founded in 1905. It is the founder of the specialty of Onuma, “Onuma Dango Dumplings”, and began when the founders sold dumplings to tourists who would arrive on the train. There are three flavors: bean paste, sesame and soy sauce, and they are not on a skewer but in a folded box so they would be easy to eat even in the train. Even now the traditional taste continues, and it is a beloved representative of Onuma souvenirs.

    This confectionery store is located five minutes' walk from Matsumae Castle. A variety of Japanese and Western confectionery is sold here, centered around the store's main product, Awabi Monaka, made in the image of awabi (abalone) which is a specialty product of Matsumae. Matsumae's famous Awabi Monaka is a confectionery filled with the bean paste made from the finest adzuki beans and mochi in the image of abalone adductor. The balance between the fragrant outer layer and the fine bean paste in the center is also incredible. The pink colored castella, Hana no Matsumae, with its cherry liquor fragrance and identity as a famous confectionery a symbol of Matsumae City, one of the most prominent spots in Japan for cherry blossoms, is also very popular as a souvenir or gift.

    The store, marked by a stately sign with a sense of history, sells Matsumaezuke, a local delicacy representative of Matsumae in southern Hokkaido, and a pickle that originated in the Ezo region as a preserved food for surviving the harsh northern winters. The shop also offers a variety of delicacies such as yaezakura (double-flowered cherry blossom) jelly and jam, which symbolize the cherry blossoms of Matsumae, as well as salted and pickled abalone and koji zuke (pickled abalone with malted rice).

    "This Japanese confectionery store was founded in Esashi town in 1870. The authentic ""Marukan-Yokan"", cut by a string, and ""Nagashi-Yokan"", are made with great care. It takes great skill to knead the beans, agar and sugar which begins early in the morning and takes all day. The shop is proud of its tradition and continues making products with the same, unchanging flavor. Other than yokan (sweet bean jelly), Monaka (red bean filled wafers) castella, and seasonal Japanese confectionary are available, and all make great gifts. The old-fashioned packaging is popular."

    明治時代以前からあるお菓子の店で、江差名物の羊羹で有名。丸缶に入っているのが特徴だが一枚板になっているタイプもある。他にたい焼きのような鮭の形をしたあきあじ最中もある。今は函館市内や空港にも売っているのでわざわざ江差で買うほどでもないが、せっかく江差に来たらいにしえ街道から坂を上がって新地町まで行き、本店を訪れてみたい。

The Fist of the North Star Strawberry Manju buns, created in collaboration with the popular anime and manga Fist of the North Star, are made with Hakodate Koi-ichigo strawberries-a blend of sweet and sour, the mellow flavor of this tasty treat is sure to delight. The Zushi Hokki Monask cookies are decorated with an image of Zushi Hokki, the local mascot of Hokuto City.

    A long standing Japanese liquor shop located near Kikonai Station with a quiet, comfortable atmosphere created by the fragrance of the Donan Japanese cedar wood used extensively in the shop. Higashide always keeps on hand a stock of three varieties of Misogi no Mai sake-the white-labeled junmai and tokubetsu junmai varieties made with Honoka 224 rice; and a black-labeled junmai variety made with Hoshi no Yume rice. The junmai daiginjo variety made with Honoka 224 rice is only sold in the town, making it extremely rare. The shop also carries a wide variety of unpasteurized pure sakes, unfiltered sakes, and seasonal sakes like hiya oroshi.

    かなりの広さにびっくりしました。もともとダイエーだったみたいです。銀行キャッシュコーナー、飲食店、お土産屋さんもあり充実しています。

    洞爺湖から函館に向かう途中、5号線から寄り道して坂を登って行きました。高速道路の八雲PAからも入れるようになってたので、まあまあの人出でした。 噴火湾パノラマ館には軽食や、白い恋人のソフトクリームがあり、濃厚な味わいでした。 あいにくの曇天でしたが、お天気なら内浦湾の眺めが良さそうです。 この場所はハーブ鶏発祥の地だそうです。
