    The fish market is located in the center of Sapporo. With a continuous history since the Meiji period, it is still popular among locals as a kitchen. There are about 50 shops offering a wide range of goods, including fruit and souvenirs in addition to fresh seafood. The free samples that can be eaten at the shops are also fun. In the surrounding area, there are old-fashioned shops as well as new cafes and Italian and other stores, making it popular as a lively gourmet food spot.

    The Sapporo Factory has about 160 shops and facilities, which include a shopping center and all-weather entertainment. It was built on the site of the Kaitakushi Beer Brewery, which was the predecessor of Sapporo Beer, and used the red bricks from the building creating a historical feel. With limited edition items and one-of-a-kind stores, it is recommended for souvenir buying. There are also lots of ways to have fun, including a lush indoor garden, a cinema complex, and a beer hall.

    This market is an outdoor market next to the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market located ten minutes from Sapporo Station by car. They get very fresh food from the Central Wholesale Market every day and sell them to the locals and visitors at very reasonable prices. There are around 60 shops and restaurants which include sushi, seafood bowls, ramen and oysters. They also provide next-day delivery for purchases within and outside Hokkaido, which is reassuring when choosing souvenirs.

    A souvenir shop located in Tanukikoji 4-chome Shopping Street in the center of Sapporo. Here you can find many original products only sold here in Kobushiya, as well as popular confectionery such as Shiroi Koibito, Rokkatei, and Royce’. They have a wide range of products on sale, including sea related products, Hokkaido sake, and the Beware of Bears range of goods. You’ll never tire of looking at what they’ve got on sale! The Shiroi Koibito confection, originated in 1976, is made with white chocolate sandwiched between soft Langue de Chat cookies and is as popular as ever.

    JR TOWER is a commercial complex that is directly connected to JR Sapporo Station. It consists of four shopping centers: “Apia,” “Esta,” “Paseo,” and “Sapporo Stella Place” in addition to Daimaru Sapporo, a cinema complex, an observation deck, Planis Hall, OFFICE PLAZA SAPPORO, and Hotel Nikko Sapporo. The city of Sapporo can be viewed from T38, the observation deck on the top 38th floor. The ramen theme park Sapporo Ramen Kyowakoku in “Esta” is also popular with tourists.

    This is the Sapporo head office of Rokkatei, probably the most famous confectioner in Hokkaido. The building houses a shop, a cafe, a concert hall, and a gallery. You can purchase Rokkatei confectionery from the shop on the first floor, including their classic Marusei Butter Sandwich Cake, and the Marusei Ice Cream Sandwich Cake, amongst other things. Light food and desserts are served in the cafe on the second floor with the aromatic mugwort mochi (rice cake) and croissants being particularly popular. It’s a popular place to visit for tea or lunch as well as a great place to come and buy some souvenirs when sightseeing in Sapporo. The nearest station is Sapporo Station.

Akarenga Terrace is situated five minutes on foot from JR Sapporo Station, two minutes on foot from the Sapporo Subway Station on the Namboku Line, and five minutes on foot from Odori Subway Station on the Namboku and Tozai Lines.

    A wholesale shopping street located next to the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market. Originally a wholesale market for retailers, today anyone is free to shop here. The foods found here are stocked direct from the central market and are all fresh and reasonably priced. There are also many sushi restaurants, set meal restaurants, and ramen restaurants operating in the market, so visitors can dine in between exploring and shopping. Market closing days are irregular. Days when the market is closed are announced in advance on the market's website.

    A long-established coffee shop of the Meg Milk Snow Brand Group, located five minutes walk from the south exit of Sapporo Station. Known as ‘the’ place for Sapporo sweets, Snow Brand Parlor has over 30 kinds of desserts, such as parfait and ice cream, on its dessert menu. Their specialty is the huge Dream Jumbo Parfait which uses a mass of ingredients such as fruit, cake, baumkuchen and ice cream. Due to its massive size it’s popular among friends, families and students on school trips. The Royal Special, made with vanilla ice cream, is also a popular dessert, created when Emperor Showa visited Hokkaido. Original souvenir goods are also on sale. *Moved to current location on 17 April 2017.

    In March of 2016 this building was remodeled to become the Japanese confectionery Kitakaro's Main Shop in Sapporo. Originally called the Gyokei Memorial Hokkaido Public Library, it was built in 1926; it was later known as an art museum. The first floor is a shop designed on a salon theme. It displays the work of the painter Kotaro Migishi. The open atrium on the second floor features a cafe where guests can enjoy lunch and sweets while browsing among their roughly 6,000 books. Items only available at this shop include their classic chocolate cake and chocolate sandwich cookies; their croissant cream puffs are available in limited quantities. From the menu, their Kitakaro Jiman-no-Omurice rice omelets come recommended.

    The Chitosetsuru Sake Museum has been awarded the gold award 14 years running in the National Research Institute of Brewing Awards. Real Hokkaido sake, born in Hokkaido and brewed in Hokkaido. In the museum is a display area where you can find out about the history and specialties of brewing sake, as well as a tasting counter. You can also taste the water used for brewing, said to be the lifeblood of sake, and purchase sake directly from the brewery at the shop. The museum is a five minute walk from exit 9, Bus Center-mae Station on the Tozai Subway Line. Entry is free of charge and the museum is closed only over the end of the year and New Year holidays.

    This shop on the first floor of the Sapporo Odori Nishi 4 Building facing Odori street, and is run by Ishiya. It stocks a full range of Hokkaido's iconic sweets: Shiroi Koibito cookies, Mille-Feuille Mifuyu, and the Shiroi Baum baum kuchen, as well as chocolate and baked goods. The Ishiya Shop is the only place to offer sales of individual Shiroi Koibito cookies, which are normally only sold in sets. You can choose all you need for a variety of situations, so they're great not just for souvenirs but for special presents. They can also print your picture on the spot to create your own original Shiroi Koibito Can.

They have a wide variety of Hokkaido standards, including Shiroi Koibito cookies, Royce' Chocolate, Jaga Pokkle, Shiroi Baum, so it's perfect to stop by for a souvenir. It's packed with Hokkaido products and dairy goods, and they're willing to ship all over Japan. They also sell soft-serve ice cream made with loads of Hokkaido milk.
