Approximately a four-minute walk from Uminokoen Shibaguchi Station, this bakery is located just outside the Shibamachi bus stop and is marked by its yellow exterior walls. It is open from 7 a.m., and since it is located right in front of Shiba Fishing Port, bread made with horse mackerel and hairtail are featured for sale. Hakkei ampan (a bun filled with sweet red bean paste), available in two types of sweet bean paste: mashed bean paste and smooth bean paste, is also recommended as a souvenir. The most popular item is the special curry bread featuring a crispy dough filled with homemade curry.

    Kanagawa Yokohama-shi Minami-ku Ooka 2-3-1
This longstanding Japanese confectionary shop established in 1931 is located close to Yokohama Municipal Subway Gumyoji Station. The shop's signature Kannon Monaka wafer cakes are stuffed with either a yuzu citrus filling or an azuki bean filling, and were designated a Famous Confection by Kanagawa Prefecture in 1967. The shop's Kamakuraji three-colored large monaka wafer cakes, modeled after an oxcart wheel, won the gold prize at the 20th National Confectionary Exposition. The shop's bean jam rice cakes, whose recipe has been passed down for generations, are popular among locals as well as among visitors to the Gumyoji Temple as souvenirs.

    駐車場は立体駐車場になりますが、狭くもなく、比較的駐車しやすいほうだと思います。店舗面積は、広すぎもなく丁度良いです。サーティワンがあるのも良いです。

Kanagawa Areas

around-area-map

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
