- A theme park dedicated to kamaboko steamed fish paste operated by Suzuhiro, a kamaboko shop of long-standing located in Odawara. The park is filled with things to see and do. There’s a museum which introduces the history of kamaboko; classes which teach how to make kamaboko by hand (advance reservation required); a market where souvenirs such as kamaboko, dried foods, and fried delicacies are sold; and a bar where visitors can eat and compare kamaboko made according to different methods. The restaurant and all-you-can-eat buffet, serving the unique delights of Odawara, are also popular.

- A facility hosting a restaurant, patisserie, boulangerie, and direct sale shop operated by pastry chef Toshihiko Yoroizuka and located in Hayakawa, Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The facility adjoins the former site of Ichiyajo Castle, a castle built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, enemy of the Odawara Hojo clan. The facility is situated in an area offering a superb view of Sagami Bay. The farm’s concept is “local production for local consumption.” The colorful cakes lining the shop’s showcases as well as the course meals and desserts offered in the restaurant are made with an abundance of local Odawara ingredients. There’s also a market selling fresh picked vegetables and fruits.

- This store directly operated by the head office of the gift cookie manufacturer Tivoli is located in 1-chome Doi, Yugawara-machi, Ashigarashimo County. With a theme of being a sweets factory that can be enjoyed with the five senses, there is a factory tour course that you can go on without a reservation and a confectionery-making corner (requires a reservation). In addition to selling baked confectioneries using mikan oranges grown in the prefecture, you can also get a taste of freshly made sweets in the cafe.

- Located along Tokaido Road in 1-Chome, Honcho, Odawara City, this established shop “Uiro” deals in pharmaceuticals and sweets while residing in a building that looks like castle. It began in the Muromachi period, when the Uiro family immigrated from China, bringing along their family secrets in medicinal work and receiving praise for the steamed confection made of rice powder they proposed for offering to country visitors. It became known as “uiro” for the family name and spread to many areas. This genuine “uiro” from the original family has been kept for 25 generations as a tradition, with its characteristic spongy texture and gentle sweetness. The uiro museum which uses the family storehouse built in 1885 features exhibits of products in which you can sense the craftsman spirit and learn the relationship to “uiro uri” of kabuki (free entrance, guides available.) There is also a sweets shop where you can enjoy handmade Japanese confections.

湯河原温泉街へ行く途中に寄りました。みかん最中という神奈川県指定銘菓を頂きました。これが想像以上に美味しかったです。餡は白いんげん豆の白あんとマーマレードでつくられており、なるほどみかんを感じます。あんこが苦手な方でも大丈夫そう。そしてこの最中、開けるとふたつに分かれているというかわいさもあります。

久しぶりに買ってみました。焼きリンゴ、栗のタルト、洋梨のタルト、森の木の実のタルトなど。洋梨のタルトはここのが大好きなんですが、変わらぬお味で嬉しかった。焼きリンゴは初めてでしたがとても好きな味。どこかレトロで上品なタルトです。 キッシュも大好きなんですが、お昼すぎに行って売り切れ。午前中に売り切れてしまう事が多いそうで、予約がお勧め。
