"This long-established tea shop was established during the Tenpo period (1831-1845). Along Noguchi Hideyo Seishun Street in Aizu Wakamatsu, the town where Dr. Hideyo Noguchi is said to have spent his adolescence, tea is sold with the heart of Aizu in mind. The original green tea ""Soemon"" is a gem of a product originating from the succession of the name Kishuya Soemon, which Kishuen has inherited for generations. It is made with a mild and calm taste, inspired by the history, climate, natural features and temperament of Aizu. The tea is a unique blend of gyokuro (shaded green tea), mecha (coarse broken tea leaves) and kukicha (twig tea), which is delicious no matter who brews it and how hot the water is. Their ""Aizu ginger bancha"" with ginger and black beans and refreshingly bitter sencha green tea is also popular."

"This Aizu lacquerware shop has a history spanning more than 200 years. This black plastered warehouse, built in the late Edo period (1603-1867), has a wide variety of lacquerware, soup bowls and incense containers including ""Aizu-e"" that reproduces traditional Aizu lacquerware patterns and ""Tetsusabi-e."" The building blends Japanese and Western styles that melt in with the modernized cityscape and is a designated historical landscape building that survived the Great Fire of Edo and the Boshin War. It is said that it was the earliest place to have been refurbished to a Western-style folded ceiling in Aizu-Wakamatsu. You will be able to find folk art such as wine cups, candy plates and accessories that fit in with the modern world."

Located along the bypass about a five-minute drive from Aizu-Bange Station, it sells genuine rice made with the blessings of nature and a high level of commitment. An early rice ""Mizuho Kogane,"" harvested in late August, is a mutant strain of Hitomebore rice. It is the earliest rice harvested in the year in Aizu, where the temperature difference between day and night is so great that it is said to be ideal for rice cultivation. It is sold in limited quantities and for a limited time because it is only grown by contract farmers.
