This shop is adjacent to the primary confectionery production factory of the long-establish Toraya wagashi confectionery and is located about a nine minute walk from the Hakone Otomeguchi of the Gotemba Station on the JR Gotemba Line, or approximately a three minute drive from the first Exit of the Gotemba Interchange on the Tokaido Expressway. The seasonal yokan set depicting the various seasons of Mt. Fuji, called Shiki-no-Fuji, is a specialty product only sold at the Gotemba shop located here at the foot of Mt Fuji. In the adjoining tearoom, Toraya Kashiryo, one can enjoy the sweet flavor of the local products, such as the Anmitsu dessert made from the sencha teas from the Gotemba locale.

Opened in 1837, this history-leaded establishment is the oldest Japanese confectionary shop in Komatsu and has even appeared in literary masterpieces. The shop’s famous Sekkato is a favorite of people who enjoy the tea ceremony. Other popular products include the mildly sweet Matsu Koboku, which contains a chestnut at its center; and the Namikimichi yokan jelly redolent of the fragrance of uguisumame sweetened green peas. The shop also holds Japanese confection making classes and can give you advice on making old-fashioned Japanese sweets.

A Japanese confectionary shop opened in 1852. The shop’s signature Tsukiyomi Yamaji is a yokan jelly with steamed chestnuts which has the faintest aroma of bamboo; this traditional confection is an exquisite fusion of delicious flavor, quality ingredients, beautiful form, attractive colors, and enticing scent. Also recommended is the Hime Kurumi, a sweet provided to Shirayama Hime Shrine, once the most important Shinto shrine of Kaga Domain; and the Joyo, the ultimate Japanese yam confection.

This facility is the headquarters of a local Ishikawa fisheries company. The company both makes and sells marine products on-site. The company is particularly famous for its pickled blowfish ovaries, a rare delicacy found nowhere else in the country. Ordinarily, the ovaries of the blowfish are highly toxic, but a traditional three-year-long pickling process renders them perfectly safe to eat. This production process is only allowed to be carried out in Ishikawa Prefecture. The company also began offering factory tours in 2018. Every Saturday, those who have made an advance reservation can see this highly restricted process. After the tour, you can also try the company's products in the adjoining cafe.
