The Toraya Gotemba Store is a directly managed store at the foot of Mt. Fuji. This shop is adjacent to the primary confectionery production factory of the long-establish Toraya wagashi confectionery and is located about a nine minute walk from the Hakone Otomeguchi of the Gotemba Station on the JR Gotemba Line, or approximately a three minute drive from the first Exit of the Gotemba Interchange on the Tokaido Expressway. The seasonal yokan set depicting the various seasons of Mt. Fuji, called Shiki-no-Fuji, is a specialty product only sold at the Gotemba shop located here at the foot of Mt Fuji. In the adjoining tearoom, Toraya Kashiryo, one can enjoy the sweet flavor of the local products, such as the Anmitsu dessert made from the sencha teas from the Gotemba locale.

"A facility located in Ataka Park dedicated to Ataka-no-Seki, a checkpoint station famously featured in the well-known kabuki play, ""Kanjincho."" The open and airy Ataka View Terrace facility offers a view of the nearby ocean. This seaside station sells a variety of local products as well as merchandise featuring Kabukki, the city's mascot. The Ataka-no-Seki-themed items make for popular souvenirs. There's also a cafe. The Kanjincho Museum holds abridged performances of ""Kanjincho"" and its three exhibit areas provide information on Ataka-no-Seki. The museum also displays kabuki costumes, joruri puppets, and contains information on the history of the area as well as the samurai Minamoto no Yoshitsune and the warrior monk Benkei."

Ishikawa Areas

around-area-map

Long, thin Ishikawa prefecture runs along the Sea of Japan up into Noto Peninsula. Highlights of the seaside towns lining the west coast include Kanazawa, often described as a "Little Kyoto" thanks to its old wooden tea houses and geisha culture as well as its picturesque Japanese garden, Kenroku-en.
