    This permanent market is in Aoba Ward, Sendai City. Although it's called the Morning Market, it is an urban shopping street. Most of its shops operate between 8:00 and 18:00 and sell seafood landed at Sendai's fishing port as well as produce carried across the mountains from Yamagata. It has become known Sendai's Kitchen and Sendai's Ameyoko because of the wealth of food on offer. There are also many sweet shops, sushi shops, and delis, making it a popular place to eat on the go.

    西方寺に寄る際に近くに地元の定義とうふがあり豆腐好きの私としては揚げも大好物で揚げたての揚げに醤油と七味をふりかけがぶっと噛めばぺろっと美味しく食べれます。結構な行列ですが回転が早くすぐに食べれます。座る所もありますが参道の道路淵に座り皆さん食べていました。他にもお店があり賑やかな参道になっています。

    The main store of Abe Kamaboko-ten is said to be where the name of the Sendai specialty, Sasa (bamboo) kamaboko, originated from. As well as selling all kinds of kamaboko (fish cake) including the bamboo kamaboko (fish cakes in the shape of bamboo leaves), visitors can also have a go at grilling their own bamboo kamaboko in the shop and of course taste it too.

    This large market is located about 12 minutes on foot from Ishinomaki Station on the JR Senseki Line. Every day they offer fresh Ishinomaki caught seafood on the first floor, and visitors love their fresh picked vegetables and just-baked bread. They also sell local specialties and unique items, letting guests shop to their hearts' content in the spacious, high ceilinged store. The second floor is a food court where you can dine on dishes that showcase Ishinomaki seafood like their Kinkazan Rice Bowl heaped with fresh local toppings and their Anago Tempura Rice Bowl topped with an enormous portion of conger eel, crispy on the outside and tender within.

    2階で食事ができます。1階はお土産屋さん。北上川沿いにあり、土手から2階の食堂に直接入ることもできます。魚介のメニューや石巻のB級グルメも食べることができます。値段も比較的良心的だったと思います。自分は石巻焼きそばを食べました。他地域のご当地焼きそばをまだ食べたことがないので、比較はできませんが、普通に焼きそばとしておいしかったです。

    Take a left at the Aqua Gate Exit of Hon-Shiogama Station on the JR Senseki Line and head towards Minato-machi along Kaigan-dori Street. This shop stubbornly continues to make and sell Sasa kamaboko steamed fish paste using the same traditional recipe and methods since it first opened its doors here in the birthplace of Sasa kamaboko. Visitors can take a guided tour of the production factory and then enjoy fresh cooked kamaboko. The Sasa kamaboko grilling experience is also popular and allows you to grill and eat Sasa kamaboko (reservation required at least one week in advance). The shop's restaurant serves the kind of dishes you can only enjoy in Japan's top fresh tuna port, such as seafood rice bowls topped with fresh seafood and tuna delivered straight from Shiogama Port.

    お土産に武田の笹かまぼこをもらったことがあって、とてもおいしかったので、お店に連れて行ってもらいました。出来立ての笹かまぼこはアツアツでおいしかった。

Adjoining the brewery which makes Urakasumi, one of Miyagi's top local sakes, this gallery serves as a space for providing information on a variety of sakes as well as on Shiogama. Dedicated to providing on Japan's culture of sake which gave birth to Urakasumi, the facility displays and sells exclusive products such as drinking vessels and sakes you can only purchase and taste locally. At the sake tasting counter, you can purchase an original sake cup which allows you to sample various sakes. The lineup of sakes changes monthly and you can bring your cup home as a souvenir.

It sells a variety of kamaboko made by skilled craftsman using high-quality surimi (minced fish paste), including their Ginsenzasa, which is made in part with wild-caught red sea bream. It makes and sells Matsushima Koren rice crackers, which are said to have first been made by a nun from Matsushima’s Kannon-do Temple known as “Korenni” using rice offered to the temple as a form of charity. The technique for making this famous additive-free confection has been passed down to a single successor for 23 generations over 700 years. In addition to versions flavored with caster sugar and Wasonbon sugar, there is also a version flavored with healthier reduced maltose sugar.

    This Japanese confection shop is located on National Route 48 in Ainosawa, Sakunami Aoba Ward, Sendai City. It sells a variety of Japanese sweets made in the old-fashioned way with homemade sweetened red bean paste and other choice ingredients. Offerings include kushidango (sweet dumplings on skewers), warabimochi (bracken starch dumplings), and mame daifuku (rice cake mixed with adzuki beans and stuffed with sweetened bean paste), which is offered exclusively on weekends.     This taiyaki (fish-shaped cakes) shop is located in the Hapina Nakakecho shopping district in Chuo 2-Chome, Aoba Ward, Sendai City. It makes usukawa taiyaki with a thin, crispy skin stuffed with fillings such as standard ogura-an (bean paste with mashed and whole adzuki beans) and custard cream. The shop also offers taiyaki with a zundamochi (rice cake and edamame paste) filling on weekends as well as a variety of seasonal taiyaki. Their chilled nama-taiyaki, which feature a whip cream filling, are also popular.

    The Taiyaki here is good and cheap. Around 150 yen plus (short term memory). The Kakigori is nice too during the summer especially with the colour flavours added.

It sells tofu, yuba (tofu skins), and aburaage (fried tofu) made by combining Akiu’s great water with a variety of soybeans including Miyagi Shirome, a cultivar of Miyagi prefecture, green soybeans from Iwate Prefecture, and black soybeans from Hokkaido. Another popular offering is the shop’s takedofu, which combines silken tofu curds with bamboo extract and comes in a green bamboo container.

    秋保温泉と秋保大滝の間にあるお豆腐屋さん。 朝9時に数人並んでいるのを発見。 帰りに寄ってみました。 お豆腐や湯葉を籠に入れていると、来る人来る人皆さん三角揚げをオーダー。 そしてすぐに食べていかれます。 早速私もオーダー。 店内に小さなイートインスペースがあり、お醤油やお箸などもおいてあります。 揚げたての三角揚げ。 香りも良くて美味しかったです。
