Abe Kamaboko-ten Main Store阿部蒲鉾店本店

Other Food

The main store of Abe Kamaboko-ten is said to be where the name of the Sendai specialty, Sasa (bamboo) kamaboko, originated from. As well as selling all kinds of kamaboko (fish cake) including the bamboo kamaboko (fish cakes in the shape of bamboo leaves), visitors can also have a go at grilling their own bamboo kamaboko in the shop and of course taste it too.

Miyagi Main Areas

Lying along the northeastern coast of Japan, Miyagi prefecture is home to lashings of natural parks, oysters, and hot springs. While the bustling city of Sendai offers some simple city entertainment, it’s the Matsushima islands that deserve the most attention, having boosted the prefecture’s reputation as one of Japan’s most scenic views.
