    This market is located in the corner of Izumisano fishing port, which looks out to Kansai International Airport. Fresh seafood is sold here on the very same day that it is caught. A special feature of the market is Hiruami fish caught in the afternoon, which are then put up for auction from around 2 p.m. Thanks to this afternoon auction, it is possible to see the auctions taking place without having to go to the market in the early hours of the morning. Also in the market are sushi bars and various restaurants with menus bursting with fresh seafood, and in the nearby barbeque (seafood grill) restaurants, you can cook your own ingredients bought at the market.

The Croque Madame made with home-made bread, which forms part of the breakfast menu, should not be missed. There are so many different items on sale in the bakery area that it is difficult to know what to choose. WEST WOOD BAKERS is located around six minutes' walk from Yotsubashi Station on the Yotsubashisuji Subway Line.

The beautiful and stately stone building is a nationally registered Tangible Cultural Property. The shop serves sweets made with carefully selected domestic flour, milk, rice flour, and fruits. The shop itself is filled with cakes and a variety of other delicious baked goods.     This long-established Japanese-style confectionary store, located in Sakai, was founded in 1329, in the late Kamakura period. Their specialty walnut mochi's name is derived from green soybean paste wrapped in mochi. The exquisite balance of the product's softness and the bean paste's smoothness is something people never tire of, according to its reputation. Their take-out menu is so popular that there is always a line extending out of the store. Additionally, seated within the eat-in space inside the store, customers can also enjoy shaved-ice walnut mochi, as well as the store's regular walnut mochi.

    The dessert here are ok... not as refined as in Kyoto. Service is lacking. Can skip if you have no time to wait in the queue.

Try their Galette Complete a recommended menu option made from carefully selected buckwheat flower and filled with Gruyere cheese, eggs, and ham. Daily special set meals and appetizers are also available.

    Passing by when going back to the hotel and saw people queueing, made us curious. Bought two crepes with chocolate and butter and were delicious.

This shop is a part of the shop Len, which was built from a restored classical Japanese house. The owner and chocolatier uses only the best cacao from the home of chocolate, Belgium, and has worked hard on creating a chocolate that would match the tastes of the Japanese people. Working hard on original recipes the shop has limited monthly specials such as sakura (cherry blossom) themed goods in March and strawberry themed goods in April.

    Hitoyoshi located in Chuo Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture is a specialty handmade monaka wafer shop and is popular as a new signature Osaka souvenir. The wafers made from 100% Japanese glutinous flour are crispy and go very well with the miso (soybean paste) filling made from organic Japanese white miso and white kidney beans produced in Hokkaido as well as a coarse bean filling using red beans produced in Hokkaido. It sells signature products such a coarse bean filled wafer and a burdock wafer as well as western-style wafers including a rum raisin flavor and a lemon and ginger flavor which are sold according to the season. As the wafers and fillings are separate, putting them together just before eating allows you to enjoy the crispy texture.

    This old popsicle specialist shop was established in 1945 in Chuo Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture. Initially set up after the war to provide foodstuffs to women and children in a time of scarcity, the popsicle has remained a much-loved famous Osaka food to this day. Each popsicle is made carefully by hand—with a strict process in terms of ingredients, production and even the stick—for that classic taste. In winter they also sell a penguin-marked kaiten-yaki (a round-shaped cake containing red bean paste).
