    A museum and safety learning center where visitors can experience mock disasters and learn how to protect themselves in the event of a fire, earthquake, or other hazardous event. Faculties include an earthquake simulator and smoke simulator; as well as freely perusable 119 (emergency telephone number), quiz, and other educational exhibits. Reservations for the museum's simulations are booked a year in advance. There are cancellations on occasion, however, so it is possible to call and see if an earlier slot is available.

    At Kururu no Mori you can try your hand at farming and cooking. It’s a very rewarding experience to both sow and harvest with your own hands. There are restaurants and cafes on the large farm which use freshly harvested produce. Advanced booking is required to take part in farming and cooking. Food from around Hokkaido is also available at the store which sells meat and other farm produce lovingly provided by farmers.

    This is the base facility for Meiji no Mori Mino Quasi-National Park. The site is comprised of an exhibition room filled with everything about the geology and highlights of Mino to models of animals and plants and specimens, a lecture room that doubles as a library, and a management building. Many people visit it as a base when using the park, and use of the facility is free. Besides nature workshops that children enjoy, it also holds various nature experience events such as nature observation meetings regularly. In addition, you can spread out lunch boxes in Momiji Plaza, and the walking path is popular with parents and their children.

    This rural park with hands-on workshops is in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. You can reach it by taking the Shinki Green Bus from Ikuno Station on the JR Bantan Line and getting off at the Yodel Forest stop. The park has lots of seasonal plants like tulips, cosmos flowers, and sage, as well as animals you can get up close to including alpacas, red kangaroos, snowy owls, and red-and-green macaws. They also have lots of organized activities like pizza and rice flour chiffon making classes, craft workshops where you make plastic accessories and decorate ceramics, horseback riding programs, and more.

    ゴールデンウィークは満員で、チケット売り場も、中のどこも長蛇で、のんびりはできません。せせらきを聞きながら、持参のお弁当を食べてのんびりと過ごすなら、よいですが、入場料大人1200円は内容からすると、割高感を感じます。

Through experiential learning, visitors go through scenarios to learn about the series of actions they should take beginning when an earthquake occurs and ending when they flee to safety. The Earthquake Damage Experience Zone reproduces in real time damaged buildings collapsing after an earthquake, and visitors learn safety and survival measures such as using a fire extinguisher to quickly stop fires at an early stage, helping people who are trapped under furniture, stopping bleeding, and stabilizing broken bones, and other series of actions, decisions, and techniques that people should know about when an earthquake strikes.

    This multi-generational bamboo farm boasts 24 hectares of beautifully maintained bamboo thickets that stretch as far as the eye can see. From April to June, visitors can enjoy a variety of activities including foraging for bamboo shoots, drinking matcha tea out of bamboo cups, bamboo crafts, and bamboo hammocking. It is also possible take strolls through the bamboo thickets, which are illuminated at night. Relying on the lights from their borrowed paper lantern, visitors can enjoy experience that can only be described as otherworldly.

    This is a sightseeing cultural exchange facility located in Ishikawa Prefecture where visitors can learn about the traditional craftwork of graceful “Wajima” lacquer ware. It opened in 2003 and is located in Kawai Town, Wajima City, in Ishikawa Prefecture. Inside the premises, there are five buildings replicating the old Wajima “Nagaya” terrace style workshops.     This brown sugar factory is located in Yomitan Village in Nakagami County and allows visitors to observe the process of turning sugar cane into brown sugar for free. The interior is barrier-free, so wheelchair users can move about with ease. Attached to the factory is a store that sells various brown sugar products. Ham, sausage, and other items produced in the prefecture are available for both sampling and purchase as well, and freshly made sata andagi (Okinawan sweet deep-fried bun) are available every day. Visitors can try their hand at making their own brown sugar, but advance reservations are required.

    Take a fishing boat from this port on Sakoshi Bay to go fishing at the best fishing spot or experience teichi-ami fixed net fishing. Their fishing programs also give you the chance to eat your catch with wappa-jiru soup and hama-meshi rice together with your fellow passengers. The season runs between April and October. From November to March they offer all-you-can-eat oysters and the event where visitors can experience oyster shucking. In January and February, you can purchase a whole string of oysters farmed from their oyster rafts (must order in advance). You can take them with you or rent a space to charcoal-grill them on the spot.

    A large culture and recreation facility located a 10-minute drive from the Sanda-nishi interchange on the Maizuru-Wakasa Expressway where visitors can see, experience, and enjoy Tamba ware, one of Japan's renowned six forms of ancient pottery. Tamba ware is characterized by its simple, un-affectated design and is highly utilitarian, making Tamba ware tableware excellent for everyday use. Some 70 superb examples of ancient Tamba ware created between the distant Kamakura period and the Edo period are displayed in the park's Traditional Learning Hall, as well as new pieces and traditional crafts by modern artisans. The park conducts clay crafting and pottery painting classes, as well. In addition, a wide variety of pottery is on display and offered for sale in the Kamamoto-Yokocho ceramics shop.
