Visitors to sacred Mt. Koya can engage in a variety of esoteric Shingon practices, such as copying sutras and being instructed in the precepts of Buddhism. Sutra copying can be conducted after learning how it is performed. First, participants rinse their mouths, after which they light incense and perform a ceremony before copying the Heart Sutra. Sutra copying costs 1,000 yen and may be dedicated to someone. Being instructed in the precepts requires a 500-yen entry fee. During the instruction in the sutras, visitors listen to the 10 Bodhisattva Precepts in a pitch dark temple hall. Both sutra copying and instruction in the precepts may be participated in with a same-day reservation.

This is a big hall where many people can come together to worship the founder of Shogun Buddhism in Japan and of Koyasan,Kobo Daishi Kukai (774-834)

This facility holds workshops for making Buddhist rosaries modeled on the heart-soothing beaded bracelets at sacred Koyasan. To reach it, take a bus to the Tamagawa-Dori stop. It's about 2 minutes on foot from there. In about two hours you can make your own one-of-a-kind Koyakoboku Kikon rosary with polished beads of Japanese cedar from Koyasan. The process of making the rosary in the calm environment gives you a chance to look inside as well, refining your heart and soul. Reservations are required by the day before at the latest.

This hands-on experience is offered at the Uruwashikan, a facility located about a five-minute drive from JR Kainan Station that exhibits and sells Kishu lacquerware produced mainly in the Kuroe district. The experience allows participants to try their hand at makie, a type of lacquerware decoration. Participants need not bring anything but the participation fee. Three types of lacquerware objects to decorate are available: a round tray, oval tray, or a bento box. Some of the decorative patterns available to choose from include cherry blossoms, butterflies, and goldfish. The experience is quite popular with foreign visitors to Japan and is also frequently covered by the media.

This experience facility is located a little to the west from Kozagawa Town Hall, along Koza River. Its name is also abbreviated to KAC. It provides services, including canoe experiences, for people to enjoy activities on the clear water of Koza River. Customers can choose between the half-day experience, where the best features of the experience are tightly condensed into a shorter timeframe, or the all-day experience, where customers can focus on one activity at a time. The canoeing experience is highly recommended, as it can be easily enjoyed with children. There is also a river fun plan, where customers can enjoy fishing for shrimp.
