Here you can learn how to make Nagano's famous oyaki buns, and soba noodles from a renowned Nagano soba noodle chef. A soba noodle restaurant operating out of an old Japanese home is located next to the studio which serve soba noodles made with buckwheat flour from Ariake. The restaurant offers two types of soba - kake soba hot noodles in broth, and cold zaru soba noodles. Both the activity studio and the soba noodle restaurant are reservation-only, and reservations must be made no later than two days in advance.

    A climbing kiln pottery studio which mixes cutting-edge techniques with traditional Takato ware to share this form of pottery, invented in 1812, with the people of today. Situated on the northwest side of Takato Lake, the studio is also not far from Takato Castle Site Park. Takato ware is double glazed, giving it a unique coloring. The studio starts glost firing from early November each year, firing 700 to 1,000 pieces. The studio also holds pottery activity classes through which you can make your very own piece of Takato ware. Participants can choose among three colorings: green on white, pink on white, and light brown.
