It features hands-on exhibits that teach visitors about the ecology of insects, the ecosystem, and the fun of science. The museum offers a variety of programs that require a reservation such as their ""Field Work"" program, which includes activities such as nature observation and crafting items with natural materials. Other programs that do not require a reservation include the ""Mini Experiment Lab"" as well as live experiment shows intended to inspire interest in science. The Sukagawa Flight Academy, which features flight simulators that allow visitors to experience what it is like to pilot an aircraft, is also popular."

    An activity hall where you can make traditional folk crafts located in Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. The company operating the hall produces akabeko red ox bubbleheads, a local Aizu folk craft. In addition to akabeko, visitors can try painting Aizu Daruma dolls, Aizu kirie paper cutouts, and Aizu lacquerware. Large groups require an advance reservation but smaller groups such as families or individuals do not need a reservation.

Some of these activities include valley hiking in the Megumi no Mori, trekking in the Iyashi no Mori, farming experiences in the communities, and charcoal making experiences.

    A one-minute walk from the Aizu Bus Kogyodanchiiriguchi bus stop. This studio is the only one in the country which carries only wooden lacquerware. Aizu lacquerware developed in large part thanks to the Gamo Ujisato, lord of Aizu, supporting it as a local industry in 1590. The Aizu lacquerware industry fell into decline for a time after the Boshin War, but today this lacquerware studio continues to preserve the traditions of the craft while also promoting its evolution in line with the times. As the establishment sells its wares directly, visitors can purchase pieces such as lacquered soup bowls at low prices. The studio also offers a lacquerware repair service. In addition, the studio offers tours which enable participants to watch lacquerware artisans at work up close, and maki-e gold and silver lacquerware painting experiences in which participants can decorate and take home an exquisite piece of maki-e lacquerware the same day.

    A folk craft shop located in Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. The shop's studio makes okiagari-koboshi (roly-poly dolls), said to be the oldest folk craft in the Aizu area, and the shop is filled with a great variety of okiagari-koboshi dolls with various expressions. The shop also offers doll painting courses and many families as well as students on field trips come here seeking souvenirs.

    A crafts museum located in Mishima Town, Onuma County, Fukushima Prefecture. The museum displays and sells Oku-Aizu amikumi-zaiku wickerwork made with Carex multifolia, crimson glory vine, and silver vine. For a small fee, visitors can make their own amikumi-zaiku strap or coaster or learn how to make a wood craft, and the museum attracts a large number of visitors.

    This lacquerware shop was founded in 1832. The warehouses, which were built in conjunction with the Aizu lacquerware industry, are joined by an art museum, experience center and rest area. Many of the buildings with multiple warehouses were built in the Taisho period (1912-1926). Inside these massive warehouses, panel displays about the history of Aizu lacquerware from its beginnings are displayed. It is also possible to see rare tools that are no longer seen today and lacquerware pieces. At the experience center, visitors can try their hand at making Makie lacquerware (using technique to add decorations by scattering powdered gold, etc.), a traditional Japanese craft.

    A potter producing Aizu-hongo ware that was founded in 1870. They continue to create durable pottery featuring hand-drawn designs made with locally sourced materials including the clay, gosu (asbolite), and glaze. The symbol design of the kiln is a motif of the local Aizu Mishirazu persimmon. The pottery from Suigetsu kiln is sturdier than other pottery product and is known for suited in microwaves and ovens. They also hold hands-on experience classes at the workshop including a hand-build pottery class where you can form and color your own clay creation, and a ceramic painting class where you choose a mug or plate from three colors; black, blue, or pink, and then decorate it.

    This long-standing potter has been making pottery for over 280 years since their founder started it during 1751 to 1764. The studio is famous as the first kiln in Japan to incorporate the strainer into the teapot. They make a wide variety of pottery products including celadon porcelain, white porcelain, carbonization pottery, and more, and are known for their wide range of products from daily use items to matcha green tea bowls. They also have a large number of innovative designs from pieces decorated with a number of holes to those with intentional chips. With prior reservation they offer classes in forming pottery by hand and using a potter's wheel.

    A pottery studio of Aizu-hongo ware was founded in 2001 that has been making pieces sporting a modern youthful flair. The workshop is located in a remodeled kominka (old houses) and marked by its handmade signboard, and they produce simple and modern tableware that fits in with a modern lifestyle. The studio is known for their large number of works in the Konabiki style in which a white clay is layered over the base and then covered with a clear glaze. The beautiful gentle appearance, almost as though dusted with powder, is gaining popularity amongst women and young people. They also operate a cafe and gallery in a renovated warehouse just a short distance from the workshop.

    This facility opened when a large number of rhinoceros beetle larva were discovered in the leaf mold that was to be used for tabaco leaf fertilizer in Tamura City (formerly Tokiwa Town) which flourished as a producing area for tabaco leaf. The resident staff will give careful explanations on how to care for the insects and their ecology as well as offer time to allow you to interact with their insects on display and living rhinoceros beetles.
