- This sundries shop and cafe is located along Prefectural Route 235 just across from Shigira Bay Country Club on southern Miyako Island. The sundries shops, Nangoku Zakka Tida, sells a variety of original merchandise only available on Miyako Island including an original design of Miyakojima Beach t-shirts as well as two lines of original accessories made from materials including Ryukyu glass and dried coral. The cafe, Shima Cafe Tonkaraya, offers lunches featuring local ingredients such as Miyako beef and Miyako pork, smoothies made with lots of local fruit, and more.

- This cafe is located near the intersection of the road leading to Sunayama Beach on western Miyako Island. Their most popular item is their slightly extravagant Miyako beef taco rice topped with a soft-boiled egg. Other food offerings include hearty pizzas made with homemade dough and chicken coconut curry. The cafe also offers handmade sweets such as their Miyako zenzai (sweet red bean soup), which is only served from April to November. The cafe has irregular holidays and its hours are subject to change, so we recommend checking their social media accounts before visiting.

宮古島カレーその他、味はふつう。地元をドライブ中に偶然立ち寄り、私の実家の話に…。オーナーは私実家に隣接する建物から、高齢の両親が住んでいる実家にゴミを投げ入れたことがあると、娘である私と孫である子供たちを前にニヤニヤ話していました。悲しい気持ちでお店を後にしました。移住者の方は地元民に恨みでもあるのでしょうか。その場で文句も言えなかった自分の弱さが恨めしい。

おしゃれなカフェです。眺めはよく、混んでいなかったので、くつろげました。紅茶の種類がいろいろありました。ハニートーストはボリュームがあり、一人では少し多すぎました。駐車場が少しわかりにくかったです。

以前は宮古島へ行ったときは必ず利用していましたが、コロナの影響で閉まったままで大変残念です。店内は落ち着いた雰囲気のいい店でした、テラス席は夕日がきれいで 仮に再開しても以前のスタッフさんはもうムリでしょうがまたあの店に行きたいです。

宮古島を訪れるたびに通っています。旧店舗はどこかノスタルジックな雰囲気でしたが、移転され居心地のいいモダンなカフェに生まれ変わっていました。毎回、ランチ利用ですが、どのメニューもとても美味しいです。とくにAsian宮古そばは絶品でクセになりますよ。オススメです。

池間島に宿泊している間、たまたま釣り場の近くにあって宿オーナーさんに勧められたのでお昼を食べてみましたが、アカジンを使ったインド系カレーがなかなかに美味しく「良いものを食べた」という満足感が有りました。 店内は鄙びた雰囲気で落ち着きが有り、何か時間を止まらせるような空気が有りました。
