In addition to set meals, rice bowls and a la cart items of Okinawan cuisine, they serve ice cream, shaved ice, ""satakunko""-a sata andagi (Okinawan sweet deep fried bun similar to dougnut) of Taketomi Island-and other sweets. Popular choices include ""mozuku soba,"" which won a Grand Prix award at the Yaeyama soba competition in the category of original shiru soba, and ""Taketomi soba,"" which features peucedanum japonicum and half-cooked eggs raised on the island, topped with boned rib."

    "This cafe is located in Kohama, Taketomi Town, Yaeyama County. It is operated by a couple, a painter and a picture book writer, and is the only cafe on Kohama Island. They offer a menu of drinks, sweets that use brown sugar and passion fruit, and handmade curry rice. The ""brown sugar sundae"" which uses homemade syrup made with sugarcane from the island is popular. For lunch, you can enjoy hayashi rice and rice omelets."

    はいむるぶしからシュガーロードへと歩き、途中でここに寄ろうと思っていました。お店を探すとなんとお休み！！！一気に疲れが出ました。まあこの時期ですから仕方がありませんが事前の確認が必要です。

    昼食でお伺いしました。 星野リゾートから歩いて5分ぐらいです。 林の中にあるこじんまりとした食堂で、おばさんとおばあさんが営んでらっしゃるようでした。 イカスミ汁そばがとても美味しかったです。 料金は離島料金で少し高めですが妥当だと思います。
