Kureha is a teahouse where customers can relax and enjoy matcha from long-standing tea shops and the confections known as Jonamagashi, which are usually available only at fine traditional restaurants or at tea ceremonies. In the same building is a gallery with a collection of original accessories made from Kaga Yuzen dyed fabrics. Customers can try on Kaga Yuzen garments, because the venerable traditional clothing shop Eritora manages Kureha. Putting on a beautifully dyed garment, wandering around to admire the quaint streetscapes, and returning to the shop to enjoy the finest sweets is a fantastic experience. Kureha is located 16 minutes by car from the Kanazawa Higashi Interchange on the Hokuriku Expressway.

"A cafe standing on Kanazawa Betsuin-dori Avenue a six minute walk from Kanazawa Station. Dedicated to the concept of delivering wonderful mysteries together with delicious flavors, the cafe opened in 2015 as Japan's very first ""mystery cafe."" The cafe roasts its own select fresh beans and only serves coffee made from beans roasted within the last seven days. Here you can enjoy authentic, home-roasted coffee that tastes great even when served black. The most notable thing about the cafe, however, is its sweets menu, which includes a challenging quiz on mystery author Ellery Queen. Solve all 20 riddles and you'll be awarded a certificate proving you are a great detective."

The place of my last breakfast before I left Kanazawa. The food is delicious with reasonable price (I think it is under 1000 JPY per person). In particular, the English breakfast can beat many...

An old-fashioned café standing at the entrance to the verdant forest of the Yamanaka Onsen hot spring resort area in Kaga, Ishikawa. Situated next to a picturesque moss-covered torii gate, the café building resembles a hideaway which has practically become one with the surrounding forest. The only item on the lunch menu is the beef stew rice set. This renowned dish is made with beef slow-stewed until its practically melting, oil-fried vegetables, and a savory sauce served over a bed of rice. The café’s handmade cakes and fresh-squeezed lemon squash juice are popular treats to enjoy after a walk in the area.

Situated inside a remodeled abandoned home, the subdued colors of the café’s décor create a chic atmosphere. The shop's most popular product is its Kaga bocha twig tea, a style of tea created in Kaga in the Meiji period. Just the stems of karigane first-grade tea are carefully prepared to create a luxurious tea. The shop also makes ""wa-kocha"" Japanese-style Western black tea using Japanese-grown tea leaves. The shop's high class tea leaves are characterized by a uniquely sweet fragrance, a result of being grown amidst the lush, natural environment of Noto. The shop has a cafe space where you can drink fresh-brewed Kaga bocha and wa-kocha."
