This cafe is in Tamagusuku, Nanjo City. It eschews meat, instead using fresh vegetables to prepare its cuisine, which is both local and organic. The restaurant structure itself utilizes natural limestone, and the tatami seats offer a splendid view of the atoll. Nearby is the establishment’s sister restaurant, “Hamabe’s Tea House.”

If you can get the window seat, you sure can stay there for the entire afternoon. Love the view!! The cold noodle is our favorite! The atmosphere is perfect too.

The café’s main draw is its Xuehua Bing desserts, which provide a different taste experience to conventional ices or Kakigori shaved ices, but the café also serves Taiwanese coffee, Taiwanese Oolong tea, and Chinese rice porridge, etc. Despite being located close to the bustling Kokusai Street, the interior of Xuehua no Sato Naha provides a quiet, relaxing environment.

This store is where you can eat omelets with fluffy eggs on taco rice, which originated in Okinawa in 1984. Taco rice, also known as an Okinawan soul food, is wrapped in fluffy and runny eggs, and you can select either sweet or spicy meat. While standard taco rice is on the menu, it is also possible to add toppings such as avocados, bacon or teriyaki chicken.

You’ll find this cafe and restaurant right after crossing the Kouri-ohashi Bridge. This popular spot has been featured on TV several times. The wooden building interior is decorated with seashells, and the wood produces an inviting atmosphere. This agu (Okinawan pork) restaurant uses “Kogachi agu” from the agu specialty store “Kippo” in its dishes, with “shio-yaki” (salt-grilled dish), “shabu shabu” (thinly sliced meat boiled quickly with vegetables), and other items making full use of the sweet and flavorful pork. There’s also dessert, with “Kibi soft cream,” which is topped with caramel sauce made from boiled sugarcane, enjoying particular popularity.

Ordered the curry rice (about 660Yen) and the sugar cane coffee. Great view of the bridge and water.

The smoothies are made mostly from fruits and vegetables grown in Okinawa Prefecture, and in addition to the standard menu, limited-time smoothies using seasonal ingredients are available as well. You can even combine various tastes to make your very own drink by taking advantage of the “My Choice Smoothie” option.

They have so many options that it takes time to pick the one. I found one very sour and bitter with bitterlemon. And it was so gooooood!

This café is located seven minutes' walk from Miebashi Station on Yui Rail. You can enjoy bukubuku coffee, a unique Okinawan coffee which has froth like a cappuccino. It is also recommended for non-coffee drinkers as they blend soybeans and herbs in their own coffee. In addition, you can enjoy a rather special bukubukucha (a traditional Okinawan furicha tea drink)” made from a unique blending which is slightly different from the traditional Okinawan style. There is also a menu for Ryukyu curries such as a Vintage sake curry marinated with spices in awamori (a Japanese distilled alcohol) and settled.

Let go of your image of a busy, ordered Japan and replace it with crystal-clear waters, white sand beaches, and relaxing folk music: You’ve arrived in Okinawa. A world away from the high intensity of Tokyo, Okinawans appear to live a laid-back beach life on this paradisiacal tropical island that lies in the middle of the East China Sea almost 1,000 kilometers south of mainland Japan’s most southern tip. Home to a spattering of islands, prepare yourself to discover underwater caves, star-shaped sand, and an island culture sometimes unrecognizable from mainland Japan.
