A coffee and bean roasting specialty shopped founded in 1971 standing in the center of the Bikan Historical Quarter. The shop’s popular coffee is made from carefully selected beans which are further sorted in the shop, then carefully roasted and nel drip brewed. In addition to menu standards such as Kilimanjaro, customers can also enjoy daily and seasonal coffees. The shop also sells beans for home use.

I think this is the world’s most original coffee. Not cheap but their interpretation of a cappuccino delicious. Lovely in the garden out back.

A café operated out of a remodeled old private home with lattice doors, a tiled roof, and white walls located in Hommachi, Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture. Inside, the café retains much of the original old interior style, giving it a soothing and quiet atmosphere. A tatami mat seating area is situated just past the earthen floor of the entrance; in the inner part of a café, customers can view the elegant inner garden. The restaurant’s seasonal fruit parfaits are particularly popular—strawberry in spring, peach in summer, Japanese chestnut in fall, and more. The spicy, flavorful Miyake curry and homemade cakes are also well-reviewed.

This gallery and cafe was converted from a rice warehouse owned by the distinguished Kusudo family, which ran a kimono shop starting in 1869. The spacious interior has a charming interior accented by the old, quality wooden decor and soothing jazz. The fully charcoal-roasted coffee has a mild taste and complements the chiffon cake and baked goods perfectly. Exhibits, concerts, wedding parties, and other events are regularly held here. HAKUJUJI is a confectionery store located inside the Okayama Ichi Ban Gai shopping center in the basement level of Okayama Station. HAKUJUJI sells cakes made using home-grown strawberries and other fresh fruits that are purchased only on the day when they will be used, along with Western-style confectionery containing fresh ingredients, baked confectionery, traditional Japanese confectionery, etc. Besides old favorites like waffles (wrapped in the skin with honey, and with a custard cream filling), HAKUJUJI also launches special seasonal products from time to time.

Founded in 1944, Kajitani Shokuhin is a long-standing confectionery manufacturer that produces delicious biscuits. It's outlet store “café BISCUIT” lets guests choose two dips from eleven varieties for their toasted biscuits. They also offer a menu with fare like breakfast, hot sandwiches, and soup. It's a great place to take a breather. The cafe is a 15-minute walk from JR Kurashiki Station.

This gelato shop is run by a dairy farm. The shop is marked by its freshness of flavor, created by using milk and eggs straight from the farm. In addition to their own milk, they use as many local ingredients as they can, including of course fruits and vegetables. They offer standard flavors like milk, egg, blueberry, and more. In season, they also have strawberry, peach, pione grape, dekopon orange, Senryo eggplant, and other Okayama-grown fruits. They also offer sweet treats made using gelato.

友人と平日午後に訪問しました。ジェラートを食べた後はすぐ近くの牧場へヤギと遊びに行きました。生まれてどれくらいなのか、小さい子ヤギが何匹もいて人懐こくてとても可愛かったです。ジェラートを食べた後はこちらにも寄ることをお勧めします！

You can view Okayama Castle, on the opposite side of the Asahi river, from inside the shop. The menu include fried shrimp curry, pasta, rice omelet, and more. They also have black sesame soba and steak meal sets. Their dessert menu is filled with unique treats, like three flavors of fried kibidango dumplings (kinako soy flour, matcha, and soy sauce), as well as squid parfait.

This cafe is inside Renaiss Hall, next to Kenchodori Station on the Okaden Higashiyama Line. This renovated building, dating back to 1922, is the former Bank of Japan Okayama Branch, and has the stately appearance of an ancient Greek temple. The cafe area was originally the official document archive, and is marked by its massive safe door and simple interior. They serve coffee, cake, curry and other light dishes. Every month they have regular painting and photography exhibits, making it perfect for those wanting to appreciate art in a quiet, mature environment.

Located a 20-minute drive from the Oku Interchange on the Okayama Blue Line. A shop for coffee, music, and literature situated on a hill looking over the Ushimado townscape. Inside the remodeled retro styled building they have a sitting area with comfortable sofas, a space where you can sit directly on,tatami-style mats, and they also offer seating on their wood deck where you can feel the sea breeze. We recommend their Chickpea Curry, a vegetarian curry made with a healthy dose of large chickpeas, and their Fluffy Omelet Rice where they gently wrap their special made ketchup rice in a large fluffy omelet. Also popular are their sweets such as their Chocolate Coffee Cake.

A 15-minute walk from JR Kurashiki Station. This cafe is located within the Yumiko Igarashi Museum and featured a princess themed royal palace decor. Their Princess Pink Curry is an original limited dish with the pink colored curry blended with local Okayama red wine and served in a plate of rice with a heart shaped cut-out. Also recommended is their photogenic Rose Pink Princess dish with follows a pink rose theme. You can even don a dress and become a princess, enjoying your meal from the royal seats (reservation required).

A 10-minute drive from the Innosho Interchange on the Chugoku Expressway. This registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan was built in 1917. This two-story wood construction European style building features a dome on the top of the front of the building as well as intricately detailed windows and roof and was the former main building of the Nakajima Hospital. Each room features a fireplace made with different styles of marble. On the first floor you'll find the Youan Coffee cafe where you can enjoy a cup of coffee surrounded by the nostalgic romantic atmosphere of the Taisho period. There's a rental gallery available on the second floor.

A five-minute walk from JR Kagato Station. At this restaurant you can enjoy a healthy curry made almost entirely with vegetables and dessert. The interior is decorated with Bizen-ware pottery and paintings and the music of Mozart drifts about the room. The roux is made with lots of finely chopped vegetables letting you taste the sweetness of the vegetables through the spices. We recommend the Seafood Curry absolutely loaded with seafood from the Seto Inland Sea including shrimp, crab, and dashi broth. Their Cleopatra Curry, made with Muscat wine and jam, is also available in take-away pouches for later reheating.

Overshadowed by Hiroshima to the west and the Kansai region to the east, Okayama is an easy spot to miss but a nature-rich gem where the Seto Inland Sea laps at its toes and peach and grape farms complete its interior. One of Japan's Three Great Gardens, Koraku-en in Okayama city is well worth a visit before progressing to Kurashiki, where preserved wooden Edo buildings line the picturesque canal.
