This is the company store for the long-standing “Koja Soba Factory” founded in 1932. The store has a calm air about it that women can feel comfortable entering alone. It’s popular with the locals, and the traditional, plain taste is as enjoyable as always. The most popular item is the “soki soba” (Okinawan noodles made from wheat powder). The springy noodles are topped with soft, sweet pork, and the soup is clear and has a light taste. Both the soba sets and individual item menu offer numerous options.

Great local soba dishes all for 850 yen - must try! Really enjoyable food in a nice location - close to the airport

This restaurant specializes in American-style hamburgers. “Doug’s Burger” is made from Tarama beef produced on the Miyako islands, and the “Miyako Island tuna steak burger” uses yellowfin tuna caught from around the islands. Sides include “Doug’s tuna salad,” which is prepared with albacore tuna. The menu features many dishes that use local ingredients and can’t be found anywhere else. All items are free of preservatives, artificial coloring, and chemical additives.

ok quality burger but i feel it was overpriced for its quality. I wouldnt go there again because there are better options on the island.

    Okinawa Miyakojima-shi Gusukube Tomori 306-5
"This shop is located a short northeast of the Kinsukyaga cave spring on the south side of Miyakojima Island. The shop's signature product is its Miyako Uzumaki Soba, colorful dried noodles which are sold in round balls and wrapped in packages by color. Despite their vivid colors, these choice noodles do not use of any artificial colorings and are made by combining natural ingredients from Miyakojima Island and other areas in Japan with domestically produced wheat flour. This cafe is located near the intersection of the road leading to Sunayama Beach on western Miyako Island. Their most popular item is their slightly extravagant Miyako beef taco rice topped with a soft-boiled egg. Other food offerings include hearty pizzas made with homemade dough and chicken coconut curry. The cafe also offers handmade sweets such as their Miyako zenzai (sweet red bean soup), which is only served from April to November. The cafe has irregular holidays and its hours are subject to change, so we recommend checking their social media accounts before visiting.

Lovely spot with good food and very friendly staff. We had the gapao chicken and the tacorice, both tasty and fresh, and some drinks. A great place to eat/refresh when visiting Sunayama beach. Staff...

This confectionary shop is located behind the Harimizu Utaki sacred site just around the corner one block northeast of the Hirarako intersection. They make and sell original cakes and about 40 varieties of sweets. Their flagship product is their banana cakes, which are free of preservatives, artificial colors, and perfumes. The shop, which has been in business for more than 40 years, underwent a renovation in order to provide even better-tasting products. Their Miyakojima Sticks, which perfectly blend the flavors of brown sugar, banana, and purple yam, are also popular. The shop has a cafe space where it serves the cakes, ice cream, juice, and more.

    這家是一家售賣甜品手信的舖頭,裝修簡陋,有一些座位給顧客即場吃甜品和蛋糕和喝咖啡之類的飲品,服務不錯的,所以給4星。

Okinawa Areas

around-area-map

Let go of your image of a busy, ordered Japan and replace it with crystal-clear waters, white sand beaches, and relaxing folk music: You’ve arrived in Okinawa. A world away from the high intensity of Tokyo, Okinawans appear to live a laid-back beach life on this paradisiacal tropical island that lies in the middle of the East China Sea almost 1,000 kilometers south of mainland Japan’s most southern tip. Home to a spattering of islands, prepare yourself to discover underwater caves, star-shaped sand, and an island culture sometimes unrecognizable from mainland Japan.
