    Sakaeda is a handmade udon noodle restaurant located behind the Kagawa Prefectural Office in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, popular with office workers and locals. There are five kinds of udon to choose from off the menu including kake udon (udon noodles in broth), kamaage udon (noodles straight from the pot) and udon with raw egg. The broth and toppings are all self service. The flavor of the dried young sardine coming through in the broth together with the firm, chewy textured noodles is perfect. They have dozens of tempura toppings to enjoy together with your noodles. Sakaeda is open from 5:30 in the morning to 3:00 in the afternoon (closes early if sold out of noodles for the day).

    This Udon noodle shop is located in front of Okubo-ji Temple, the 88th temple on the Shikoku 88-temple Pilgrimage in Sanuki City, Kagawa Prefecture. A specialty is the hand-made soft yet firm noodles that have been carefully kneaded with miraculous water that springs from the hill behind Okubo-ji Temple. The signature menu is “Uchikomi-udon” which is freshly made udon stewed together with vegetables such as Japanese radish, carrot, taro, and spring onion. It is a genuine local dish having a nostalgic flavor, cooked with miso which will make you warm from the inside even on a cold day.

    四国八十八ヶ所結願の寺の前にあるお土産物屋と飲食店でした。名物は鍋ですが、さむきうどんもありました。釜玉うどんにしましたがすぐに配膳されました。柚子を使った七味唐辛子を入れるとさらに美味しくなりました。

    Jakoya inside “Roadside station Genpeinosato Mure” located in Murei Town, Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture is a self-service seafood restaurant. It boasts local production for local consumption and offers dishes using mainly seafood from the Seto Inland Sea which are supplied daily. Local mothers who are very familiar with local cuisine are in charge of the cooking. You can enjoy nostalgic and homely tastes including rice cooked with Spanish mackerel stock, grilled young yellowtail collar, a cutlet and rice bowl with seafood sauce as well as Tachiju which is fragrant broiled cutlass fish on top of rice. Hamachinozukedon covered with plenty of thick slices of young yellowtail is the most popular menu item.

Operating out of a renovated 80-year-old Japanese home, the hideaway-style restaurant exudes a faintly nostalgic atmosphere. The restaurant serves choice Italian cuisine crafted with an abundance of seasonal Setouchi ingredients, such as the chef’s vaunted antipasto, a world cheese platter, ever-popular trippa tomato stew, and a hot salad consisting of vegetables baked in a brick oven at 400° C.

    高松市の丸亀町の中心地ですが少々分かりずらい場所でした。古民家を改造してなかなか雰囲気のあるレイアウトです。ご当地グルメ「骨付き鳥」を注文。柚子胡椒とスパイスを下味にレモンを絞ってハーブの香り漂う骨付き鳥はイタリア赤ワインにもピッタリ合いましたね。スタッフは皆若いのですが接客も素晴らしい。夜行寝台「サンライズ瀬戸」で帰京しなければもっとゆっくりと他の料理を味わいたいと思いましたね。「御馳走様！」
