A coffee shop which has been in business since 1959. Here you can enjoy a cup of coffee and a sweet while listening to famous classical music. The cafe also serves light meals like sandwiches, pizza, and beef stew. The cafe's homemade sweets have an unchanged, old fashioned flavor which keeps many fans coming back frequently. The Hanshi Coffee is a recreation of the coffee said to have been drunk by the feudal warriors of Hirosaki Domain in the Edo period as a medicinal tonic.

This cafe is famous for its Alain Delon curry, which has a hamburger steak placed on top of a tower of rice. The hamburger steak that goes perfectly with the curry is coated in a crisp breading, and melted cheese oozes out of it when you insert your knife. In addition to the Alain Delon curry, the Japanese-style Alain Delon doria and gratin are also highly recommended.

We had the Alan Doro Curry. The pictures looked so appetizing we had to try it. The staff is very polite and the enviroment is cozy. I will definitley be recommending this to other people that...

  • PIZZA HOUSE Sharumu
    Gourmet / Alcohol
    Aomori Aomori-shi Asamushi Hotarudani 5-2
This western restaurant makes dishes such as pizza, and is especially famous for their omelet rice. The locals have loved this restaurant since its founding in 1971. The popular rice omelette comes topped with big fried shrimp, chicken rice and soft eggs, and goes great with demiglace sauce and tartar sauce. The pasta sticks that are served before their omelet rice are also popular.
  • French Cuisine Pomie

    Aomori Aomori-shi Tsutsumimachi 2-3-14
A French restaurant where you can truly enjoy French course meals made with local ingredients. The restaurant's signature dish is its garlic pork boned rib cooked to perfection with a crisp, flavorful outer crust. The bouillabaisse, made sauteed freshwater fish from the prefecture; and the Shimohokuriku masu salmon confit with marinated edible wild plants are also recommended. The restaurant also has a private dining area, making this a great destination for families, groups, parties, and a wide variety of engagements as well.
  • FESANT

    Aomori Hachinohe-shi Samemachi
Located along the coast of Hachinohe, this European-style restaurant has a refined, kominka (old houses) atmosphere. The menu includes many staples of Italian home cooking, with the seafood served there being all freshly caught in the waters off Hachinohe. The seafood pasta is especially popular, and our recommendations include the squid liver pasta, the abalone pasta in the winter and the sea urchin pasta in the summer. The restaurant's crunchy and aromatic pizza topped with Hachinohe's regional specialty of mackerel is another popular item for its subtle fish flavors.

A restaurant where you can have your fill of Japanese wagyu beef raised in the lush natural beauty of Aomori. The interior of the restaurant, accented with warm woods, has seating encircling the open kitchen area from which you can watch the skilled chefs at work and the occasional gout of cooking flame while you eat. The restaurant's three steak varieties made with A4 rank Aomori-raised Japanese black beef are particularly popular; orders of each cut are suspended as supplies for the day run out.

Aomori Main Areas

around-area-map

Centuries-old stories of samurai at Kakunodate and the remains of millennia-old archaeological sites including the likes of Isedotai invite history buffs to delve into Aomori’s fascinating history. As the most northern prefecture on the Japanese mainland, Aomori enjoys a cooler climate, which makes it a welcome escape from the southern cities for combining castles, art galleries, and summer festivals with the great outdoors.
