    Located on the bank of Lake Onuma in the Onuma Quasi-National Park close to Hakodate, this cafe restaurant commands glorious views of the magnificent Mt. Komagatake. The warmth of the wood and high ceiling create a comfortable atmosphere and the soothing, relaxing space is one of its main attractions. Soup curry, a Hokkaido specialty, and the one-plate lunch with pasta and salad are particular favorites. The restaurant is frequented by locals and tourists. There’s also a large selection of dishes on the menu which use ingredients from the area, such as Onuma roast beef and Hakodate fish. The lake cruise lunch where guests can enjoy the beautiful Lake Onuma is also hugely popular. The nearest station is Onuma-Koen Station.

Blanc Rouge provides warm, homely dishes using locally sourced ingredients such as potatoes from Biei. The beef stew, made with beef braised in red wine and potherbs to give a full-flavor, is a particular favorite on the menu. There are also plenty of Biei gastronomic delights on the menu such as tender chicken with boiled cabbage, and potato gratin, etc. Pets are allowed on the terraced area.

    Situated in the heart of the magnificent natural surroundings and commanding spectacular views of Mt. Yotei is Prativo, located in Niseko Milk Kobo, in Abuta County, Hokkaido. The buffet style lunch of meat, fish and pasta, etc. along with locally produced fresh vegetables is very popular. Using only a minimal amount of seasoning you can enjoy the real flavor and aroma of the vegetables. Desserts made with milk from the Takahashi Dairy Farm are sold in Niseko Milk Kobo. The cream puffs, filled with cream only after having been ordered, are extremely popular.

    Limited menu but nice quiet cafe for an afternoon lunch. Only hamburger available for kids menu (fyi its beef). 4 mains for adults to choose only. Not for fussy eater. Ended up we left for the milk...

The station master's office with its beautiful stained glass was once where Emperor Showa had a break. The slowly stewed, mouth watering beef stew is particularly well known, drawing guests far and wide to try it.

Their signature dish is the Beast Special Omurice, a light and fluffy omelet on rice. Their soft, melty beef tongue stew is also very popular. Additionally, there’s a wide choice of western-style food on the menu, such as rice pizza made with butter rice and bacon, and pork sauté, etc. They also have a large selection of alcohol to choose from.

    This western-styled restaurant located in Kowa Town, Nemuro City, Hokkaido, is a long-established restaurant which continues to use the original escalope recipe, local to Nemuro. Escalope is a large, hearty dish of butter rice topped with a breaded pork cutlet and demi-glace sauce with a salad on the side. Because it is a nutritious dish that can be eaten relatively quickly the recipe is said to have established itself in the town of fishermen. The restaurant has a western feel about it around town and other popular dishes include their Oriental Rice, a dry curry topped with steak and demi-glace sauce.

The freshly harvested vegetables which are served after the appetizer is Restaurant Maccarina at its best. The meat and fish too, served as a main course, is full of flavor with the seasons of Hokkaido. Here you can relax and eat, while looking out on the surrounding natural beauty, in the tranquil expanse that feels the warmth of the trees.

    Another gastronomic experience! It was our second visit and will definitely be back for more. Too many delicious dishes to put into words. Just come, you won’t regret it!

    A Western-style restaurant opened in 1946 in Toyako Hot Spring Resort in Toyako Town, Abuta County, Hokkaido. Inside the restaurant are traces of the days when it was opened with some of the old furniture like tables and chairs remaining, making it feel like your stepping back in time. They have plenty of dishes on the menu still loved from days gone by such as pork chops with their specially made sauce, spaghetti naporitan (spaghetti with a tomato based sauce), and soft, juicy Hamburg steaks. If any member of your group prefers Japanese-style food the restaurant will prepare accordingly if you call ahead.

    The best part about this place is the history. The restaurant is obviously family run and has been for quiet some time. The wooden building looks like it might have been built by hand, and the cosy...

Their extra-large 13 centimeter high burger is especially recommended. You can savor the real taste of the meat which doesn’t contain any seasoning or spices. The locally grown vegetables which are grown in Furano, where the temperature differences throughout the seasons can be extreme, produce a remarkably rich and fresh tasting flavor.

The restaurant uses lots of local ingredients, especially seasonal vegetables grown by Niseko farmers, and has on the menu a variety of French dishes with a Japanese twist for customers to enjoy. They also have their own special Lupicia tea menu too. Lunch is a buffet style arrangement so you can eat as much as you like of your favorite food while looking out over the beautiful scenery of Mt. Yotei.
