Kanazawa-style curry as offered by Go Go Curry is distinctively eaten with a fork or a spork.

I love Go Go Curry. I am sad that Go Go Curry exists in so many places (including New York City) but does not exist anywhere near my residence. So when I came to Kanazawa you best believe I ate my...

Jiyuken serves proper, old-fashioned Yoshoku using recipes (such as a special demi-glace sauce) that have been handed down through the generations since the restaurant was first established. The rice omelet, made by frying rice and meat seasoned a soy-sauce-based sauce and then wrapping it inside a fried egg, has consistently been the most popular item on the menu. The lunchtime set meal (also available at dinnertime), which includes four Jiyuken favorites—home-made hamburgers, sautéed pork, potato croquettes, and fried shrimp in béchamel sauce—is also very popular.

I would say it’s a pretty good place for lunch. The Omurice is cheap and unique because the restaurant used rice with soy sauce instead of ketchup. Cream croquette is delicious. Hayashi rice is...

An Italian restaurant dedicated to using local ingredients. Both the interior and exterior exude a warm, working class Italian atmosphere. Almost all of the vegetables used by the restaurant were grown with care and attention by local farmers, giving them a fragrance and flavor that differs from your usual store-bought vegetables. The restaurant also uses fish fresh-caught that morning for meat that is firmer and more flavorful than standard fare. The secret ingredient in the restaurant's pastas, seafood, and hors d'oeuvres is traditional Noto ishiru fish sauce. The most popular pasta dish on the menu is the linguine with crab cream sauce, an exquisite meal only offered in winter. The restaurant's lunch dishes, which include an hors d'oeuvre, main dish pasta, dessert, and drink, are also recommended.

Designed around the concept of Japan's old nostalgic ""Yoshoku"" Western cuisine restaurants, the establishment has a laid back, retro atmosphere. The restaurant's standard ""Indian Curry,"" domestic rice served in a stainless steel bowl and topped with plenty of curry and shredded cabbage, is one of the origins of modern Kanazawa-style curry. Particularly popular menu selections include the tonkatsu breaded pork cutlet curry, a Kanazawa-style curry staple; and the restaurant's signature vegetable and egg-topped curry."
