    This astronomical observatory is located in Shimohatanokawa, Kumakogen Town, Kamiukena County. It features an observatory equipped with a 60-centimeter reflecting telescope as well as a small 40-seat planetarium. Visitors can enjoy observing the shining stars over the highlands with expert commentary at the observatory’s nighttime stargazing parties (reservation required). Visitors can see a planetarium show every day in the daytime (except when the observatory is closed).

    A nature park sprawling to the west of National Route 196 traveling from JR Matsuyama Station. The park can be easily identified by its hilltop observatory modeled after an ancient European castle. The park is filled with play facilities, including a huge playground and roller slide. Cherry, camellia, and other seasonal flowering trees are grown around the park's square, making it a place where children can play and come in contact with nature. One of the park's biggest draws is the observatory, which offers a sweeping view of the Seto Inland Sea and the Matsuyama Plain. At night, visitors can enjoy a beautiful nightscape, including a lit up Matsuyama Castle; this night view has even been selected as one of the 100 Night Views of Japan.

    This lookout spot sits underneath the windmills of the Seto Windhill power station which uses the strong winds of the area. Located almost in the center of the Sadamisaki Peninsula you can get a 360-degree view of the lined-up windmills, the sea to the north and south, and the mountains stretching to the east and west. In the park there are full size windmill blades on display allowing you to experience just how big they are. From the slightly elevated viewing platform you can hear the sound of the windmills which resembles the sound of an airplane in flight. It's a popular driving spot along the Sadamisaki Melody Line as it plays the tune Mikan no Hanasaku Oka (The Hill where the Mandarin Blossoms Bloom).

    "Mt. Tomisuyama is located in the center of the Ozu Basin enclosed by the Hiji River; due to its resemblance to Mt. Fuji, it is called the ""Ozu Fuji"" by some. The mountain is approximately 320-meter high. The area near the top is maintained as a park, and bicycles can be ridden all the way to the top of the mountain. The park has an observatory and playground and is also suitable for going hiking with children. In spring, cherry trees and azaleas bloom in the park, and in fact the park boasts some of the largest number of azalea plants in western Japan - around 63 thousand! The park's cherry trees are double-flowered cherries, and during the blooming season the area around the mountaintop is dyed light pink with their flowers. The Sightseeing Sakura Cherry Blossom Festival and the Azalea Festival are also held in the park at this time, and it bustles with large numbers of visitors."

    This gallery is located inside of a renovated kominka (old folk home) in Gohonmatsu, Tobe Town, Iyo County. It exhibits works of Tobe-yaki Ware, a local style of pottery. The gallery also sells soba choko cups and other items fired at local potteries. It provides information about each pottery and can also be used as rest stop.

    Located approximately 40 minutes on National Route 33 towards Kochi from the Matsuyama Interchange on the Matsuyama Expressway, this museum on wooden architecture that houses and exhibits mainly a collection donated by the Kuma-born businessman late Yoshiharu Ibe. In addition to permanent exhibitions such as oil paintings by Ryusei Kishida, representative of Japanese modern Western painting, and Tetsugoro Yorozu, and Japanese calligraphy, ceramic works and sculpture works, it holds collection exhibits with a theme two to three times a year. You can enjoy seasonal scenery such as the oriental paperbush and sasayuri (Japanese lily) in the wild grass and flower garden, and there is also a guest rooms that entertain Pilgrims.

    This lookout park is on the Setouchi Shimanami Kaido Expressway which crosses numerous islands to connect Onomichi on the main island with Imabari. It's in the northern area of Oshima, the first island you reach after leaving Imabari. Located 232 meters above sea level on the peak of Mt. Karei, from the lookout you can see everything from the Hakata-Oshima Ohashi Bridge to the remains of Noshima Castle and the swirling tides of the Seto Inland Sea. With campsites and walking trails in the surrounding area it's the perfect place for all sorts of recreation. Near the summit is the Tomi Chaya tea-house which is open from spring to fall. While enjoying a meal made with local ingredients you can look over the scenery that surrounds the nationally designated Historic Site, the island of Noshima.

    "This is the symbol of ""Stone Town Miyakubo-cho"" which has been producing beautiful durable Oshima-ishi granite since the start of the Edo-period. Oshima-ishi granite, which is as smooth to the touch as celadon porcelain, is marked by unwillingness to fade, with its deep grey increasing as time passes. It is used in both the National Diet Building and the imperial Akasaka Estate. There are displays on Oshima-ishi granite as well as other types of stone from around the world and you can learn about the history and culture of stone work. Unique stone works and monuments are dotted about the grounds and along with the main building there are grounds available for baseball and tennis and a multipurpose auditorium."

    The largest water park in Shikoku is here in southern Ehime. There are all sorts of different pools to play in like the slider pool with its 50-meter-long slides, the spacious lazy river that will ferry you about the park, and the wave pool with its ocean like swells. Popular attractions for thrill seekers are Shikoku's first free-fall slide and a 73-meter-long spiral slide. There are also other exciting leisure spots in the area including Baseyama Park which has a rotating ascending tower that offers great views from 260 meters above sea level and Shokenyama Park which has jumbo slides that are incredibly popular with children.

For children the most popular attraction is the largest roller slide in the prefecture. The giant roller slide has a space theme and is 200 meters long. With other areas like a lookout space with a great view and the beautiful scenery of Ichigoe-ike pond with its suspension bridge and Japanese iris garden this is also a great park for adult to enjoy along with children.

    An urban park sprawling in the Sannomaru on the west side of Matsuyama Castle. Surrounded by earthen walls and enclosed by a moat, the Horinouchi area was completed in 1605 and was built to serve as a palace for feudal lords, a residence for retainers, and as a government facility for the domain where rice was stored. Today, the area is maintained as a field where visitors can enjoy light exercises like running and playing catch. The park is also used for events on weekends and serves as a space for local residents to rest and relax. In spring, many cherry trees bloom in the park, and it has even been selected as one of the Japan Top 100 Sakura Viewing Sites. When the trees are flowering, the park bustles with large numbers of visitors come to see the blossoms.

    This mikan orange grove is in Tomoura, Miyakubo-cho, Imabari city. It is open from October through the end of March. It's built into the side of a mountain, and grows a variety of citrus fruits including mikan oranges, and many have different seasons to allow different harvest times to try out (reservations only). After picking, you can enjoy mikans grown in the breezes of the Seto Inland Sea with a view of the water.

Stretched across the northwest corner of Shikoku island, Ehime is a nature-rich prefecture boasting beautiful coastlines and a rural center where mountains play host to 26 of the Buddhist temples that make up the Shikoku Pilgrimage. Matsuyama is home to an original post-feudal castle as well as Dogo Onsen, one of the country’s oldest natural hot springs. The northern city of Imabari marks the entrance to the Shimano Kaido, a road that crosses six spectacular bridges and several islands, forming a route between Shikoku and mainland Honshu.
