    The science museum has three permanent exhibition halls (the nature hall, the science and technology hall and the industry hall) and a huge planetarium 30 meters in diameter which has featured in the Guinness Book of Records. The centerpiece of the museum is a real dinosaur robot that moves. The museum plays host to many temporary exhibitions and hands-on events making it a great place to come for the whole family.

    This museum is located in Wakayama, Kumakogen Town, Kamiukena County. Its permanent collection features around 3,000 exhibits on a variety of subjects. These include the plants and animals that inhabit the Ishizuchi mountain range, the geology of Mt. Ishizuchi and the Omogo Gorge, and the history and folk culture of the area including mountain worship. The museum also holds three special exhibits each year as well as events such as nature observation parties and entomology seminars.

    This astronomical observatory is located in Shimohatanokawa, Kumakogen Town, Kamiukena County. It features an observatory equipped with a 60-centimeter reflecting telescope as well as a small 40-seat planetarium. Visitors can enjoy observing the shining stars over the highlands with expert commentary at the observatory’s nighttime stargazing parties (reservation required). Visitors can see a planetarium show every day in the daytime (except when the observatory is closed).

    Located approximately 40 minutes on National Route 33 towards Kochi from the Matsuyama Interchange on the Matsuyama Expressway, this museum on wooden architecture that houses and exhibits mainly a collection donated by the Kuma-born businessman late Yoshiharu Ibe. In addition to permanent exhibitions such as oil paintings by Ryusei Kishida, representative of Japanese modern Western painting, and Tetsugoro Yorozu, and Japanese calligraphy, ceramic works and sculpture works, it holds collection exhibits with a theme two to three times a year. You can enjoy seasonal scenery such as the oriental paperbush and sasayuri (Japanese lily) in the wild grass and flower garden, and there is also a guest rooms that entertain Pilgrims.

From late August to mid-October, the vineyard offers grape picking at its covered grape arbors. Visitors can also enjoy activities such as barbecuing at Donguri no Mori (this activity is only for guests who are picking grapes) or digging potatoes in mid-September. There is also a farmer’s market that sells grapes, handmade konnyaku (yam cake), juice, and other items.

It's only open by reservation from Wednesday through Friday.

They offer all kinds of harvesting activities (by reservation only), like blueberry picking from mid-July through late August, then grapes from early August through late September.

    This farm is located in Takamatsu, Tanbara-cho, Saijo City. It grows fruit using organic fertilizer. Guests can enjoy picking figs from late August to early November and persimmons from late October to mid or late November. The farm also offers chestnut harvesting from September to early October. Guests can roast and eat their chestnuts right there at the farm. All three activities require a reservation.

From early June they have peaches, then the season moves to blueberries, grapes, figs, chestnuts, persimmons, kiwi, and so on through the year. They also grow clusters of succulents, and they hold flower arrangement classes using roses year-round.

You can try picking all kinds of fruit yourself in season.

    This fruit farm is located in Iioka, Saijo City. It raises a variety of berries including blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. The farm is open from mid-July to mid-August and offers blueberry picking (reservation required). . It also serves gelato made with blueberries and other fruits.

Visitors can also enjoy seasonal flowers such as the 1,000 plum trees representing 20 varieties that have been planted in the park’s plum garden.

    Railway History Park in Saijo located about two minutes’ walk from JR Iyosaijo Station is a cultural facility built as the first full-scale railway museum in Shikoku. In the Shikoku Railway Cultural Building, it displays valuable railway carriages such as the first generation zero series bullet train and a diesel locomotive class DF50. There are also carriages where you can sit on the driver and passenger seats so it can be enjoyed by everyone from children to adults. In the property, there is also the Shinji Sogo Memorial Museum which introduces the profile and achievements of the 4th Japan Railways’ president, Mr. Shinji Sogo, and a tourist information center.

Stretched across the northwest corner of Shikoku island, Ehime is a nature-rich prefecture boasting beautiful coastlines and a rural center where mountains play host to 26 of the Buddhist temples that make up the Shikoku Pilgrimage. Matsuyama is home to an original post-feudal castle as well as Dogo Onsen, one of the country’s oldest natural hot springs. The northern city of Imabari marks the entrance to the Shimano Kaido, a road that crosses six spectacular bridges and several islands, forming a route between Shikoku and mainland Honshu.
